I will study your definitions and feed back but my initial impression is that it will be very useful; for my MSc dissertation which I am now well and truly into!! Do you by any chance have or know where i can find the original CETHV document with the principles of health visiting in?

Thanks

Ann

Re: : Wanless report

Dear Senate,

Page 69 of the Report gives a 4 line summary of "the role" of HVs and SNs in relation to public health. How can anyone do justice in 4 lines? Well at least SNs & HVs get a mention. There are even two mentions in the Report of the "nursing" contribution to public health (in both cases HVs in reality).

The Report is so long my printer went into collapse mode -phew, what a scorcher!

Best wishes,

Woody.

Has anyone had a chance to look at it yet?

The UKCC as it was then, did run off additional copies of the CETHV

original Principles document just a few years back. If they have run out,

I am sure the CPHVA has loan copies and if all else fails, I have one you

can borrow-but no doubt many other HV lecturers do too. I'd be interested

to know if you can get a copy from thr NMC Frances

Sorry Ann; I should have replied earlier, but needed to check that I had

not lost them in my house move. Yes, Frances is right; the ENB republished

500 copies of the principles document but failed to tell anyone, so none

sold. They threw out 450 of them thinking nobody wanted them, but I managed

to rescued the last 30 or so from the building as it was closing down. I

sold a few last year, to fund reserving a web-domain name for Senate (which

is still awaiting a web-literate person to set up) and still have some available.

Copies a bargain at their original selling price of £5 each for the same

web fund, as its annual rent is coming up for renewal soon!!

best wishes

For those RGNs on the list, what does one expect for a salary in a British

hospital? Not offshore work, but a regular position in an emergency department

(A & E), for example?

Just curious.

Hi ,

Look under 'Educational Manual for Evidence Based Chiropractic' (EMEBC) link and go into the chapter on physical therapy. I think what you are looking for will be there.

Maybe one of the Board Members can help me...

I've been looking on the OBCE website for definitions and protocols, and can't find some.

Specifically, I'm looking for definitions of "physiotherapy" and the specific conditions indicated and contraindicated for their use.

THANKS!!!

You can contact WSCC, Marsha Peoples. She shares the office next to Lester Lamm's. She has PT handbooks with all this info for $10. They're spiral bound, easy to use. They're the ones used for CA licensing classes. She will mail them to you if you call her and request. (503) 256-3180. I don't know her extension, but you can ask from that number.

Hello - I've been documenting my tests scores and audiograms into Excel, and

would like to include definitions for the different tests done for hearing.

Does anyone have a good explanation for the following:

CNC words (monosyllabic words)

AzBio (lower the score the better)

BKB-SIN (I think these are harder sentences, introduced recently??)

HINT - Hearing in Noise Test

Any help at all will be much appreciated.  I tried to do a google search on

these and came up with nothing.  I'd try to do more except that my * & %# computer

is giving me grief.  :(

Thanks so much for any and all help.  :)
