Guest guest
I agree . My sister got the MedEl implant and has to have the remote control with her all the time in case she wants to change something. For me, I've adapted to the buttons on the controller and would prefer to keep it that way. Hopefully someone will put a bug in Cochlear's ear that if they do develop the remote to be sure to have some way for the blind to access. I can't remember if the buttons on Jan's remote had braille on it or not. ________________________________ From: " lkozlik@... I can tell you that if I had a remote, I'd lose it the same day I received it. LOL! Another issue would be deafblind access. If a processor can only be controlled via remote and its' buttons cannot be easily identified tactually, this will cause problems for deafblind users. Guest guest
Yes, , I was thinking the same. To me the remote would just be an extra thing to fiddle with & take along & lose.
Guest guest
, My former CI audi automatically ruled out a Med-El CI for me due to the processor being inaccessible to the deafblind. Note that this was in 2004, so things may have changed since then. Guest guest
, Exactly. I have a hard enough time keeping track of my remotes for the stereo, DVD player, TV and VCR (yes, I still own one! LOL). ---- <wdywms@...> wrote: > Yes, , I was thinking the same. Guest guest
Ahhh he is talking about the caliber of handguns which can be .22 or .32 or .45 which is where he got his idea. LOL Smaller caliber means smaller weapon which is typically what a woman would prefer over the heavier and kick (blank) .45 or .357s.
