Guest guest
Thanks Rhonda for this information. Are these options you had to request, or did they already come with your processor? I'm wondering because the people I work with that have Advanced Bionics could use some help, but I'm at a loss for what is available to them. If I could learn that, and then remind and show them what they can do, then I'll be able to suggest some aural exercises they can do to improve their understanding with their CIs. Thanks. ________________________________ From: latedeafened <latedeafened@...> Sent: Thursday, January 8, 2009 3:36:58 PM Subject: Re: Listening to iPod, etc. <snip> Hi Roabert - my sister has MedEl, and she does not have the t-coil option....and I have two friends with Advanced Bionics who also do not have the t-coil option. Hopefully 's daughter has the Nucleus products. I think that the other products will be coming out with the t-coil option soon, if they haven't already. </snip> I have Advanced Bionics and I can listen using directconnect earhook & cable or t-mic earhook and headphones. Guest guest
How do you connect the cable to your processor? ________________________________ From: latedeafened <latedeafened@...> Sent: Thursday, January 8, 2009 4:07:15 PM Subject: Re: Listening to iPod, etc. <snip> Thanks Rhonda for this information. I use the same headphones to connect to my computer too. Rhonda
Guest guest
Judy, Red and blue? Where is the white? LOL I would guess the colors denote left and right. The m links are also available in mono. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Isn't the best way to save face to keep the lower part shut? & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- rclark0276@... Guest guest
Evan, When you get the buzzing, are you using a phone or some other device? Explain the situation you are in. Couple things to check. One, turn the sensitivity down to zero then bring it up slowly. That may help. Two, is the phone actually t coil compatible? Not all are. Some may produce that buzzing. Do a test so you are more comfortable with the t coil on. Enable t coil, set sens to zero or 1, maybe 2. Hear any buzzing? Are you near the computer monitor, fluorescent lights? Walk around and see where the quiet spots are and where the noisy areas are. When you get close to where there is a lot of wiring in the walls, like near the breaker box, you will get the buzzing. If you can find quiet then its working. Now you can be fairly sure a phone is or isnt t coil compatible. Ask your audi if any of your maps have the mix. Default is 100% t coil when its enabled. Some people like a mix which might be 75% t coil and 25% mic. This is good if you need to ehar whats going on aorund you while on the phone. Or, when your phone does not have sude tone. Side tone is where you hear your own voice as you speak. No side tone, no can hear self speak. LOL Its really weird when you are speaking and cant hear it. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Stress is when you wake up screaming and you realize you haven't gone to sleep yet. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- rclark0276@... Guest guest
EvOn, Never woulda noticed. LOL I still dont use the phone much but I can. Its easy when I make the call because I am set up ahead of time. Practice changing settings with processor on the ear. Its not that hard. First, wiht your glasses on, practice whi;le looking ast the display and soon you will know how long a time it takes for certain changes to take effect. I use a Plantronics headset for my phone which makes it real easy too. Even when someone is leaving a message, I can grab the headset, switch to t coil and intercept the call. Gives yuh hope, eh? I have the Clearsounds neckloops, the original and new CLA7 and will try them with the cell phone as well as my mp3 player. Nprmally I prefer using direct connect but when I start working out at the rec center, I will use the loop. Today's quote seems timely. LOL I better remember it when I go walking and encounter stupid drivers. Guest guest
Evon, Showing off? Who, me? LOL All houses are electric and you can and will find quiet spots. You ahve to be very close to the computer monitor or tv, or the brekaer box, or flourescent lights, to get serious buzzing. Just walk around the house, you will figure it out. And sometimes all you need do is move slightly or turn your head to get quiet. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* If the entire population of earth was reduced to exactly 100 people, 51% would be female, 49% male; 50% of the world's currency would be held by 6 people, one person would be nearly dead, one nearly born. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- rclark0276@...
