cell phone ear piece for CI?

A friend asked me if one could have a " normal " hearing person's cell phone

attachment used for hands free (with ear bud) modified to use with their CI

direct auditory attachment feature.  The mic is built into the cord.  It would

involve snipping off the ear bud speaker part and attaching the male connector

to be used with the CI.

My friend has a Cochlear Freedom model - but I suppose it could be for the other

brands as well.
