--- Thanks Patty, I will start treating myself for this.... I thought

the yeast was just local. I did not realize that it is systemic,

which really could be why I feel so much worse! Thanks, and I will

research and get some supplements, Blessings, Iggy

PS. In Dr Browns original protocol treatment, he states that

minocycline is " anti-yeast " do a search and it does say that, but

that is the ONLY place IVE seen this stated... so It does sound too

good to be true, but he does say it.... but anyway, I dont take it

for granted, Id rather be on the safe side, cuz and antibiotic is

just that.... thanks, blessings Iggy

yeast infection are what you would expect--itching, burning, a

discharge and odor, and you would definitely know that you have one.

You basically treat it locally, with anti-fungals such as monistat.

the immune system. The symptoms of candida are so generalized that

it is hard to pinpoint candida as the cause. Probably the only way

to do it is through a live blood analysis, and most MD's totally blow

off the whole idea of candida infection systemically. It is a very

controversial disease, but a very real one, and best treated by

alternative docs. The symptoms include:

pathogens) excrete toxins that harm the body. The major waste product

of candida is acetaldehyde, which produces ethanol. Ethanol can cause

excessive fatigue, and reduces strength and stamina, by affecting

enzymes and iron absorption. (Iron is needed for oxygen utilization--

hence the lack of enery produced by cells.)

addition, antibiotics are often prescribed in trying to deal with our

mysterious illness, and antibiotics kill all beneficial bacteria in

the body along with the bad ones, and the beneficial bacteria are

what help keep candida levels in control. (Everyone has candida in

the body--that is why most doctors don't get too worried about it.)

In our case, where antibiotics may be needed to fight mycoplasma

infections, they also increase the probablity of a candida infection

if proper steps are not taken to add back the beneficial bacteria and

kill off the candida. It is a catch-22.

have a candida infection that is systemic, and treating accordingly.

An anti-candida diet is very difficult, but you can do many things to

help if you can't do it all the way, such as cutting out sugars as

much as possible, eating anti-fungal foods (my old standby-raw

garlic!), taking anti-fungal supplements (oregano oil, for instance),

and eating more protein foods.

even a group for candida--very informative.
