Guest guest
I did just this Margo.........talked to Cochlear just a bit ago before seeing this. I realize now I am being very premature in asking these questions and feel bad I posted here to potentially further stir the pot of anxiety for readers. I clearly understand that this letter is intended for the professionals who serve us (I knew that before I called), NOT for us recipients and that very likely based on input from professionals there could possibly be refinements and adjustments made as the company proceeds further with the program. So, the best advice to everybody here is just to sit tight and not spend time wondering and worrying what effect this will have on you. I think I just got anxious due to my unique situation right now where I have one Freedom processor that isn't resting comfortably on my ear due to unique circumstances. I have had opportunity to try the N5 for " fit " and it fills the bill for what will sit comfortably on that side, and thus I am quite anxious to be able to upgrade. I jumped to a conclusion based on my faulty interpretation of this communication that wasn't intended for us recipients to begin with! I wish sometimes we didn't get all this instant communication......... Margo, thanks for your wise words.........and I hope everyone here realizes all of this speculation is just plain and simple premature. In all my 13+ years relationship with Cochlear they have never let me down, and I don't see them doing so anytime in the future! Carol in WI 2. Carol and medicare question Posted by: " Margo Klug " mjkapples@... mjkapples Date: Fri Jan 15, 2010 6:10 am ((PST)) Hi Carol- There has to be some kind of logical explanation as to why medicare ci recipients would not be eligible for the discount. You have to remember that the letter that posted was one that was designed to go to professionals(ci centers, etc) and those people would probably already have a better knowledge of the nuances of medicare and cochlear implants. It might even have something to do with the way medicare is set up and how Cochlear is required to handle situations when a product is declared obsolete. I don't know. So, the best place to ask about medicare and the whole obsolete the 3G and sprint issue is to call or email Cochlear. If you call Cochlear(1-800-483-3123) or Cochlear reimbursement, which I think handles medicare(1-800-633-4667) I would think that you would get more information on this issue. NO sense worrying or wondering if you can go to the source. I would hope that when ci recipients get the letter from Cochlear that further explanations would be offered but why wait and worry when you can ask Cochlear now. with double ci joy, Margo
Guest guest
I did not think you stirred up the pot, & I am glad to have received these letters beforehand. . Prepares me for what I suspected was coming. I had heard the 3G was becoming obsolete, but not the Sprint. I like to be informed.
