Any way to find a used or refurbished harmony or auria?

Hi,

I'm new to the group and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how I might

find a used Advanced Bionics Harmony or Auria? I'm trying to locate a spare but

it will cost $4,000 or slightly more to get one through Advanced Bionics. I was

implanted before I switched to Kaiser insurance a few years ago. If Kaiser does

the implant, they give their patients two complete units (i.e., the recipient

has a spare). If one has the surgery done before coming to Kaiser, Kaiser will

not provide a second processor. Apparently they consider it a medical necessity

but only if they did the surgery. Also apparently, there's no appeal of this

stance of theirs.

I'm nervous when traveling that if something goes wrong with my processor I'd be

in major trouble. I do travel with a spare headpiece and mic, but would like to

have a second processor for backup.
