Described Movies - Good News - New Resources Today we debut two new resources for fans of described movies. Both can be reached via a new, easy-to-remember Web site address: www.describedmovies.org A. DVS on DVD This page of our Web site now lists DVD and Blu-ray discs available with audio description AND provides a Amazon click through option which takes you directly to the page of amazon.com to order the disc. While you can purchase these discs at all the known retail outlets, clicking through this page means the Media Access Group earns a modest share of the revenue, while you're not charged a dime more. Help support our work while enjoying described movies at home. By the by--the Meryl Streep-Alec Baldwin-Steve charmer It's Complicated debuted this week on DVD and Blu-ray with DVS. B. Full List of DVS Movies This page lists every movie we've described for television, cable, DVS Home Video and DVS Theatrical since DVS debuted as a service in 1990. We're at nearly 800 films. The list is sortable by movie title or distributor (the company for which we originally described the film). Let television networks, cable companies, movies-by-mail, movie download and streaming sites, etc. know there's a market for these described films... ask (persistently) and you shall receive (now we all have a list to point to, one we'll keep adding to each week...) 3. Captions and Description for Digital Cinema Will captioning and description, and MoPix systems specifically, continue to work with digital cinema equipment? Can Rear Window work with 3D movies? The answers are yes and yes. The Media Access Group has been working with film industry standards groups for over two years to ensure captioning (open and closed) and description remain available to theaters and their patrons. We'll keep this item, and a link to the latest information on the subject on our Web site, in future weekly MoPix Updates.
