Guest guest
Hi all: Been a while since I posted, but I had a recent situation that really annoyed me. Ever have a situation when a hearing capable person uses your hearing disability as an excuse? Example may be when the hearing person explains a simple taks 3 times. You tell them you GET it after the first time, and their excuse is, well, you don't always hear me. Did you not hear me reply that I GET it after the first time? Why are you being demeaning??? I hear very well with my implant - had gradual hearing loss. I understood lanuage from the first day of activation of my implant three years ago. Any suggestions in dealing with these less than bright people is appreciated! It is said that hearing loss is a blind handicap. People have no problem blaming you for not hearing them, yet would the same person become frustrated with a person who is blind in one eye, or someone with one leg?
