Guest guest
Peggy, The internal magnet is not that strong but tis there. Above and slightly behind your ear, you should feel a bump. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* I woke up this morning and couldn't find my socks, so I called information. She said they were behind the couch. She was right. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
Guest guest
Peggy, I was implanted Nov 14 Left ear and will be activated Dec. 20th. I laughed when I read your message. I got a paperclip and tried to find mine. I think I feel a slight pull. I ran it all over that side of my head. (LOL) Can't you picture me sitting in front of my computer doing this? Benavides Magnet Question Today I had a follow up appointment with my surgeon who implanted my right ear on Nov.5. I was curious about the position of the magnet and asked him where exactly was the magnet placed. He went to get a paper clip, came back and proceeded to place it behind my ear. Well, it didn't stick and he said something about having to wait until I'm activated. I thought that the magnet would work following surgery but I guess not. My activation date is December 12 and believe me when I tell you that I can't wait and I hope everything goes well.

Guest guest
Hi: A don't think a paper clip will stick. I just tried it with my internal magnet and it does not stick. But another magnet will stick. Don't worry -I'm sure everything will go great! Guest guest
No paper clip sticking for me either. As Rhona said, don't worry. But watch what side of your body you hold your umbrella on. My processor has jumped to the handle more than once. It is the funniest thing because I have a habit of leaning the umbrella close to my head. Also watch car doors and leaning your head back near metal when you are sitting. Most times you know it immediately because the world (sound) disappears. However, I did hear the story of a farmer driving his enclosed tractor who returned to the barn and found his processor missing. It had come off in the cab and of course he didn't notice because the tractor was so noisy. If I remember correctly, the story had a good ending. Guest guest
I think everyone with an implant tried the paper clip. I did it myself and it did not work. Then a friend of mine gave me his magnetic name tag and bingo.. it stuck to my magnet. Weird! What I do to scare others is I place a large bolt as is was stinking out of my head. The other day I was putting together a chest dresser and had to nail the back. When I opened the plastic bag all nails flew away and landed on the carpet. So I took my processor out and use the outside magnet to pick up the nails. Have to make use of my resources! rhonamf <rhonamf@...> wrote: Hi: A don't think a paper clip will stick. Guest guest
Wasn't there a family with a child with CI, and they travelled to a destination via the freeway and discovered the CI missing and nowhere to be found. . Back home the CI was discovered to be dangling on the outside of the car?
Guest guest
Until the swelling goes down, not much of anything will stick to the magnet site. That's why they wait a month or so before activating you. I remember having to run my magnet all over my head until I found the place where the internal magnet was. While paperclips might not do it, a whole lot of hair things will. I notice if I put a hairclip in my hair, it starts to migrate down toward the magnet on that side. So you can try one of those jobbers. Has to be steel to start with, and most paperclips are another kind of metal.
