Last night, while taking a " laid back " moment at work, I rested my head

against a metal cabinet. Next I knew, I couldn't hear a thing. I checked my

processor only to find it was MISSING! Lesson to learn, don't rest your head

against the metal cabinet, it has ways to steal your processor due to the

magnet!

Everyone was laughing, but then, one person said,,,,, if it cling to it, how

does it cling to my head,,,,,,,,Everyone was laughing, but then, one person

yep, ruby (4) has a CI & she can't ride in the back of shopping carts as

with her being small, her head doesn't extend above the top of the shopping

cart

so she gets stuck to it as well!

Don't say is embarassing moment. Is not just laugh about it and explain what you

have in your head. Take a bolt and attach it to your head and have fun teasing

people.

Remember our goal, the CI user, is to educate the hearing community.

Have fun!

That sounds like something my son would do! But I agree with --don't be

embarassed! :-)

That is funny, and I mean it in the most nicest way. I've had the same kind

of things happen to me. The first time I was a little freaked out when I

couldn't hear, then realize my processor was stuck to the loading cart at

Lowes. I've had it stick to the car door also while getting in. Those who

are with me get a kick out of it also!

, you have the right attitude. A few years back some friends and I

were having lunch outside in Orlando. We have all known each other since

grade school. So we were doing some old school tricks, like rubbing a

spoon and getting it to stick on your nose. 2 friends were trying and

trying. I said, " That is NOTHING, watch this " and took the spoon and

stuck it to the side of my head so the magnet held it. They were

whooping and laughing so loud, there were tears coming down their faces.

When you have a CI, the very least you can do is have fun.

My son, age 13, does stuff like that on purpose and says, " See what I can

do? Cool, huh? " I just take it all in stride--life is good!
