Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have a question or two about some new cell phones on the market now since my last cell phone purchase nearly two years ago. I have the Motorola Razr with AT & T now (formerly Cingular) and have been very happy with the service except for a few times when the call failed. I can hear the phone very well with my CI. I'd like to get a new phone when my two year contract expires the end of next month as I would like to get a slider phone with the QWERTY keyboard to text messages. Without the QWERTY keyboard, it's a pain to text messages on my Motorola Razr cell phone. With this keyboard I can also have email and Internet service at an additional monthly fee. Does anyone here know anything about Verizon's enV LG cell phone with the QWERTY keyboard that is now available for $99.00 with a new 2 year contract? How's the volume on it? What about T-Mobile's Sidekick for $199.00 with a 2 year contract? This newer phone replaces the old Sidekick ID that can be purchased for $49.99 with a 2 year contract, but does not have the camera and the screen swivels instead of sliding. Any preferences between CDMA and GSM? Thanks for all your advice and tips regarding these and any other new sliding cell phones on the market now! Guest guest
Can Sidekick and Vlackberry use voice? Blind friendly?
Guest guest
I use a blackberry as a phone. but I am not sure if it is a blind friendly phone. mine has a keyboard set up like a QWERTY keyboard. One of the features it has is a speakerphone if that is what you mean. but it is pretty much a visual phone. Snoopy Re: Re: CI and new slider cell phones Can Sidekick and Vlackberry use voice? Guest guest
Snoopy, I'm interested in a Blackberry someday. Can you tell me what the dimensions are of the one you have? Is it as small as the RAZR? Is the keyboard easy to operate? thanks, Pam
Guest guest
I have the Blackberry 8703e which is 4.25 inches high and 2.5 inches wide. It is ..75 inch thick. The keyboard is very easy to operate. The phone is clear as a bell for me with the rating of T4/M4. You can get email, text, go online and do all kinds of things on it. I have not seen the RAZR so I can not compare the two. I have seen other smaller blackberry like the Pearl but Verizon does not carry it. Guest guest
Every market/vendor has its own pricing structure on cell plans so it would be easier just to talk model numbers. Sprint and Verizon are more t-coil friendly if someone has not already pointed that out. (I am on digest feature with this list) I use the Motorola Q. Good for my induction coil, speaker phone and bluetooth. Sometimes I use the induction loop with it for hands free. the data plans for the Q and BlackBerry are pricey and usually people use it for work purposes. It has internet features but my next phone will have the GPS for traveling (and when I don't want to admit I am lost!). Guest guest
, this subject is so timely for me, but I'm going to start a new subject. Guest guest
Pam, the Razr is clamshell and the Blackberry is not. I have the Razr and there is no interence at all when using the t-coil, neither from my hearing aid nor from my cochlear implant. I'm sorry I can't say the same about the BB (see my other message). However, the BB has a wonderful keyboard, is phenomenal in sending and receiving e-mails. I told my hubby I rate my BB just one step under him and my laptop. LOL.
