Guest guest
I have been browsing cochlear's website to try to figure this out on my own. I am getting connected this Thursday. I was wondering if the Freedom processor has a built in FM system that it comes with or if I have to purchase something extra.
Guest guest
Hi . I am quite sure the Freedom(which I use) does not have a built in FM system. At a job club for people with disabilities that I attended a while ago, they had an FM system(mike which the speaker wore, and a wireless receiver). I pluggged the external direct connect wire that I got from Cochlear Corp. into my processor's direct connect jack(it has a rubber cover over it) and into the FM receiver jack(same size as a walkman). It worked fine, and there was a volume control on the FM receiver. I probably would have heard most everything without it, but there were times when it WAS helpful. nancy_bena <nbenavides@...> wrote: I have been browsing cochlear's website to try to figure this out on my own. Guest guest
, No built in FM system. What is available is the Microlink Freedom, which is a module that replaces the dispasoble battery cage and is the wireless receiver. You do need the Microlink system with its transmitter tho. Pricey. But other FM systems can be ased, either with a neckloop, or direct connect to the Freedom's accessory port. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* The colder the x-ray table, the more of your body is required to be on it. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
Guest guest
I see others have explained about the " add on " for the FM module. If this is your first implant, I would suggest you wait until you get used to the CI - maybe 3 months or more. Then you may be in a better position to determine if you need it and if so, be better equipped to handle the operation of the FM stuff.
