Guest guest
Generally, insurance only covers upgrades if the current processor is obsolete, which the Freedom is not. $7,800 something, not 10k. As to the differences, well there are many. Some find the smaller size to be a huge improvement. Then there is the remote control which allows you to make more changes to your maps than was possible before, such as setting the tcoil/mic mix. In my opinion, not worth the cost at this point since I have the Freedom which is just fine. Quote of the nanosecond. . . Guest guest
, If you know the date is June 30th, then you know more than what the district manager told me at lunch last week. She gave me August as the date. So what do they know, anyway? Thanks, , June 30 is the day the 3G will become obsolte. ____________________________________________________________ Banking Click here to find the perfect banking opportunity! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/c?cp=HGUE1PpL8UiJeqUWKK3flQAAJ1CAYQG2fn\ ZWBLacCwlpBoaTAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAXeAAAAAA=

Guest guest
Thanks, Luv, But, actually that comparison was not to be found on the internet. Cochlear sent me the file and I passed it around. Bob, aka Bobber ........... Re: More on Nucleus 5 Bobber, As always a font of knowledge. Guest guest
Hi Dan: I get the digest version of , so I hope I am not repeating what may already have been shared. I just wanted to add that I attended a Cochlear Connect to your Community event recenly and there IS a installment plan you can access for the upgrade. I didn't write down the specifics, but I think the information would be available on the website or by calling the company directly. On the matter of whether or not it is worth it, I can only relate my personal experience. I have had my N24 for over 13 years now and the Freedom processor is my 3rd upgrade in as many years. The upgrade to the Freedom from the 3G was a huge advancement for me in terms of improved quality of sound. I also experienced improved hearing thru the advancement of the microphone technology, that allowed me to hear more sounds from behind and my speech discrimination for single words improved 17%, which is significant. I feel that if I can achieve any improvement in sound quality and speech discrimination, it is/was worth it. One last comment is that there is a trial available, so if anyone feels it isn't worth it or it does not work for them, the processor can be returned. It seems to me the trial period is 45 days, but don't quote me. Warmly, Carol in WI 1d. Guest guest
Bobber, you should have been around way back when, when body worn processors were the norm. Not only were they big and clunky, but the cord was long enough to be annoying, but NOT long enough to allow a woman to use the toilet without having to bend her head or lose the head piece. Nobody was happier than I to get a behind the ear without a LONG cord. But I have no problem removing the processor to change settings on it, while sitting at the table. People don't like it, they'll get over it. LOL. I never knew folks had to undress to fiddle with the processor......
