They bring the audiologist in, and he makes sure the implant is responsive before the doc seals you up. They told me when they went to do the test, the equipment decided to flake out. They had another <whatever they use> at a hospital about 1/2 mile away. The audiologist, who let's just say could stand to lose a few pounds, ran over and got it, and ran back. They said he was drenched (Sept in Houston) by the time he told the doc all was ok and close me up. Guest guest Posted February 21, 2010 Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 Hey, Stuart? Guess what? My present audiologist used to go to the operating room to do the testing. Now he does it remotely by computer while in a building across town! He also did it from NY to Africa - when a NY surgeon went there to implant a man. How awesome is that???
