Guest guest
I asked a question in here, about the use of those body fat scales. A Google search led me to THIS article: http://www.bcig.org.uk/site/public/current/safety.htm#interference Which included this text: Treatments that CAN be carried out on people with cochlear implants Treatments that are known to be safe for cochlear implant users include: laser hair removal laser treatment for cataracts. use of body mass index scales use of digital body fat scales IT was from a report by the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG) RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES ON SAFETY FOR COCHLEAR IMPLANT USERS Updated November 2006 So, its pretty well up to date. A pdf file of the document can be downloaded at: http://tinyurl.com/2s7pr4 This has got the pictures etc. In my opinion this is a useful document and something that could be on the main site. Alice? Even this report errs on the side of safety and says that the processor should be turned off on take offs and landings and going through the scanners at airports. I have never had any problems with these while leaving my processor turned ON. Ted F.
Guest guest
Not that this even matters, but I have one of those BM and BF scales and my 4.5 year old daughter loves to use it, and it doesn't seem to interfere with her implant @...: ted.fletcher@...: Thu, 27 Dec 2007 21:25:51 +0000Subject: More on Bathroom Scales and C.I.
