Home Page- http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/ shocking pain I have not posted on here for a long time. My daughter, Holly had one ear implanted Dec 2009 and the other done July 2010. Right now she is having some severe pain in one ear. She said it feels like she is being shocked and it only lasts a very short time. It happens frequently some days and sometimes its weeks without any pain. Any one else having this problem? My first thought was that it is shorting out. Hope not! Guest guest
Yes, she needs to see her audi. They had to re-implant the ear I was having shocks in. Called it a soft failure . It was miserable! Interesting that you thought it might be shorting out because Cochlear Americas is having some problems with, what I understand as grounding issues. Not sure what that is all about but have heard there have been 60 cases. .??? I was implanted with my 2nd implant in my Left ear and gust last week at my mapping started having shocks in that ear. And have had a few since. Really scary to me. Wanda Sent from my iPad On Aug 31, 2011, at 3:55 PM, " megan.antonsen " <megan.antonsen@...> wrote: > I have not posted on here for a long time. Guest guest
Wanda, From what I understand, the N5 by Cochlear has a backup ground so that if one didn’t work, the other will. I might not be explaining this correctly but ........ as I understand it, it is like it has a backup system so that there should be no shocks caused by it. This is different than the shocks which were caused by the AB problem. I have no idea which implant Holly has but either way, should bring her daughter to the implant center right away to see what is causing the pain. That’s my take. Happy Hearing!
