Guest guest
Iggy honey, try hard to relax, I know how hard it is, and I remember feeling just like you are right now, I think I know how it is, your feeling toxic and then your taking drugs and that makes you feel like your only adding to your bodies toxicity, so you just think how bad you want to be clean and pure, and have your body be all natural. I felt that too, honey I know how much you want that, in time you will get there. I would not worry too much as far as the medications making your body toxic or sicker. Your not takin prednisone or something like that. The narcotics are not going to damage your body because your not abusing them, your probably not taking that much, I am not sure what your on actually but either way your going to be ok. Your emotions are really going to be stirred up right now, anxiety is high, all those things are normal, though not comfortable at all I know. The best things you can do for yourself now is to try to stay occupied and busy. I am not sure how much your able to do, but I recomend that you try to find something you can do to keep your mind off the implants, reading, writting(keeping a journal could be really good for you) they say writting and keeping a journal is very healing. I used to keep one on my puter and it helped me later to look back and see how much I was improving. I remember in the beginning after explant how much that helped because there were days when I thought I was never going to get better, and hardly could tell a difference. Dr Feng told me to look at my healing not in days but in months, and when I would read back a month or two in my journal it was true I was getting better, but not by the day, by the month! Slowly at first though. Anyhow, take your medications now, and just try to do what you can to eat healthy and take good care of yourself. Once the surgery is over, your probably going to need pain meds for a short time and then you can start the process of stopping them, and it will be easy. Esp when the pain gets better. It is known for a fact that the patients who take medication for chronic pain have a really easy time quitting them once the pain is truly gone. Because patients who take medication for pain don't get high off the drugs, it is people who take them who don't have pain that are getting high off them. It is a chemical thing in the brain that knows that you need the meds when your body is in real pain it metabolizes them different than if you were just taking them to get high. So just ease up on yourself. Don't you dare tell us not to listen to you either, ok! we are here for you 24 hours a day, you just write when you need help or someone to answer something or just to listen or vent or whatever. That is what this site is here for. I am all alone this weekend, my hubby is off on a hockey trip with his younger son and I had to stay home to study for my finals next week, so I will be on here allot checking in and also, if you want to call me if you need help you can ok? Don't feel bad about anything you say here, we all know what it is like to be waiting for that surgery, it can be so hard. Your being very strong, and hanging in there. It is too bad you cannot get in before February though! Is Dr Feng that booked up? Unreal huh? Anyhow girl please rest and take care, dont' worry bout all this other stuff because things have a way of working themselves out. Ok enough of me! hugs In , " iggyangel7 " <Iggys_girl@m...> wrote: > Thanks for being there to listen. Guest guest
Do not excuse yourself at all. If you need something for the pain, and you have plans to explant, there is no alternative answer to me. You gotta function. I have been there, although not as much pain as to need pain meds, but can fully understand and sympathise with you. I will pray for you Iggy, and know that God has a light at the end of this long tunnel for you. Guest guest
Iggy: have you tried acupuncture and massage therapy? I find both are very helpful. Guest guest
: Can I use some of your words in my speech? I liked what you had to say " At any age, this disease stinks! I have often gained strength from reading about what those of you with younger ones go through. It seems so hard that they cannot understand why things hurt or have never known not having arthritis. At least with a teen, you can try to explain the medical stuff rationally and they will understand. I guess at any age, this disease stinks! Michele (17, pauci & spondy) Re: update My heart really goes out to all of you with teenagers going through all these health issues. It must be so much more difficult because of all the independence issues and peers, hormones, etc, etc, etc. I have thought more than once how " fortunate " I am to not be in your shoes --- yet. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice in your other post too. I didn't read it before responding like I should have. We are trying to talk to about all this, the upper GI is what the dr is recommending right now. I figure if I can get him to go for the blood work this week that's a start. Sometimes I wish he was still little and I could tell him exactly what to do for everything! I know I could force this issue, but somehow I want him to see the importance of it on his own. But since I am worried about it, I may need to get more forceful with him. Just to do it for his old ma's sake! LOL Thanks again, Michele Re: update My heart really goes out to all of you with teenagers going through all these health issues. Guest guest
Hi ; I have been on Coreg (25mg 2x daily) for five years. It is used to strengthen the heart muscle/function. It is also an adrenalin(sp?) blocker. So if you are finding some of those near misses don't faze you anymore - that is why. I stay pretty calm on the drug and it has improved my heart function from 40 to 60 over the course of a couple of years. My Doc and others have referred to this drug as the miracle drug - I agree but some people cannot tolerate this drug in the larger doses or at all. Hope this helps, guin Re: ICD Health Bracelets Hi was wondering if anyone can tell me about the use of coreg? Am on it and have been for 6 months but have yet been told what it is for even though i have asked i get no answer. Thx to anyone who can help answer this Hope you all have a wonderfull day. God Bless !!! :-)
