Guest guest
---Hi Colleen, Im sorry to hear about the rejection of disability. I am on a three month medical leave from work, and w/in this time I have to start filing for disability from work. If Im going thru work, how do I do this? I should call human resources and find out. I hear this is a nightmare...there is no way I can work until I am explanted and healed... any suggestions please help, thanks,... by the way, almost everyone gets a rejection first time around. I will pray that this one will be accepted. Guest guest
Hi Iggy. I haven't been rejected for disability yet...I haven't heard anything from them. I filed the first of Sept., but it feels like ages ago. I really need the money. I'm expecting to get turned down (like you said, they reject nearly everyone the first time), so I've already spoken to an attorney who said they will get involved if I'm turned down twice. I know some companies have long term disability insurance for their employees. That would be a question for your HR dept. I work a little from home. I'm an artist and I do graphic design from my home office. I've sold a few paintings in the last few weeks, but it's not enough to live off of. It's like Kacey said in another email...it's unfair that people have abused the system so much that truly sick people like us have to go through so much and wait for so long to get on disability. Oh well....I'll just have to be patient.
