The caugh will probably get worse during treatment but the doctor will be able to help you with that.Mine was the old treatment of interferon 3shots a wk and riboveron 5a day.I had about every side possible. The newer treatments don't seem to be as sever.I had my caugh until about 6 months after treatment.

Hi Gail, I will talk to them about it next month when I have an appoint. Yesterday and especially last night were real bad alot of nausea and a fever that did go away after awhile. Got up this AM and the left side of my back feels like it was punched Lol. Starting to notice after shot night I feel ok next day it seems to be late into 2nd and 3rd day I get nailed so I am assuming it is the shot. Whole lower part of back now hurts but not painful. 3 shots a week oh no thank you, must have been terrible. I do know they told me to call if severe back or stomach pain but this isn't severe so thinking I don't need to call. patgail <gaila@...> wrote: The caugh will probably get worse during treatment but the doctor will be able to help you with that.Mine was the old treatment of interferon 3shots a wk and riboveron 5a day.I had about every side possible. The newer treatments don't seem to be as sever.I had my caugh until about 6 months after treatment. Pat, Some days my back and some days my whole body gets to aching. I have a chair liner that has points of vibration on it and I liwn on the couch and turn it on. Then place a hot pad beneath my lower back, after I take a couple of ibuprofen. If I lie quietly for about 20 minutes, usually, the ache gets better, most of the time.

I also do lots of stretching exercises every day and have started adding a 2 lb dumbbell to the arm and upper torso stretching. It's amazing how much this eases the ache. I'm 64 and just cannot be so inactive, I guess. I feel sooo much better if I exercise a little bit at least.

Of course, having said that, who the h---- feels like exercising when the interferon hits the system? lol

I'm getting over the bronchitis, but now have a crop of cold sores in my nose and mouth. I hope this is not indictitive of the whole 11 months. I'm not suffering overmuch with the treatment, but the random viruses and germs coming through have me worn plumb out!!

Hi Tim, My first G I didn't see any need for me to get the Hep Vaccinations - I test positive for A and C & wasn't in any high risk group for Hep B. My second doc ( I call him Dr Idiot, an infectious diseases specialist - he makes me nuts) made sure I got them. Strangely enough the 1st G I had me tested for H I V - the second didn't & he treats most of the H I V /AIDS patients in town. I tested clear on that one, I think it had something to do with getting the meds through the gov't. I get my flu shot every year & the pneumonia shot whenever my doctors say to. Hugs, SuZie & Sir SpYke the Happy - outside lying on a pile of leaves in the sun & I'm going to have to spend an hour brushing the leaves out of his fur.Hillbilly Tim <knoxweb1@...> wrote: yep did them just the A vac's is not in my systempatricia <pandas2sbcglobal (DOT) net> wrote: Did you get the series? Hi Gail whats shameful is I forget to even pray sometimes. I am not dealing with this at all very well but am trying. I am so sick today and don't know why but husband is also so maybe a virus or who knows maybe Stater's Brother's hamburger got to us lol. Not a joking matter to many products being recalled anymore. I don't really help anyone sweetie but thank you for saying it. Maybe when I have more experience in hep c I can help, all I can do now is be there for everyone. Hi Donna,

Mike is recovering slowly. He is now in therapy and walking with a

stiff ankle, but walking. His face is almost back to normal. There's

just a knot above the eye that seems to be taking it's time healing.

Through it all Mike has been extremely patient. Never complained

about the pain, or the therapy, or anything really. Not even once;

not even when it first happened and the pain was at it's worse.

Pretty amazing to observe. I asked him how he could be so patient

through it all when all our married life he was one of the most

impatient people I ever knew. He simply chuckled and said he was a

child then, now he's a man. I busted out laughing and said, " Well, at

least the accident didn't do anything to your ego! " lol

" My two nephews " ? A slip of the tongue perhaps? I asked prayer for

my grandsons. They are 's boys. You met my daughter, when

you lived up here. Anyway, they are her children.

Keelan (the oldest, 10 yrs. old) passed the treadmill test, and

although he still has the WPW, they gave them the option of doing the

surgery now or just monitoring him because he will develope more

during puberty and will require more surgery then. They decided

rather than putting him through more and more surgery, they would keep

a close eye on him untill he simply couldn't go without it.

That's about how it went with his brother, Donny, too. Donny's case

is different in the fact that he will have to have a valve

replacement. I hadn't realized it, but some of the valves will only

last 10 years, so they will often have to have more than one

replacement. His is a defective valve and as he grows the valve

hardens causing the heart to become enlarged. They've uped his

medicine for the enlarged heart, and so far so good. He, too, passed

his treadmill test so they are also delaying the surgery until further

notice. Ofcourse, they will be monitoring both boys very closely.

Sometimes when I think of the seriousness of their situation, it feels

like the breath is knocked out of me. They are very dear to us, and

we all truly appreciate of all the prayers that people (often total

strangers) have sent up on their behalf. Thank you, thank you all.

Please keep praying.

Shortly after Mike had the car accident, my monitor went out on my

computer. My computer is old and pretty crapy, and as I had my hands

full with helping Mike, it simply wasn't a priority to get it

replaced. I finally picked up one that's about as crapy as my

computer. lol I have to say, tho, that after being off line for close

to two months, the lists seemed to be pretty slow. Not much activity

on the ones I'm on.

Hi Gail,

Goodness, I wonder if the diabetes is part of the slow healing. At any

rate, I'm glad he is mending.

On the nephews vs grandsons. . .I need to take some more curcumin for

the old timers. . .. LOL.

Yes, I remember . You know Dr. Schulze had an incurable heart

valve problem as a teen and cured it with hawthorne.

Hawthorn is shown to restore heart tissue and repair valves. Something

to consider.

Google hawthorne syrup for the best I know of. Also excellent for heart

strength is Taurine.

So how are you holding up in all this. A break from the computer sounds

kinda nice to me, right now.

A two month break actually sounds kind of heavenly. Smile. I'm a little

envious.

I'm glad that the boys are doing well under the circumstances and glad

that Mike is mending, and hopeful that you are doing okay. I know that

summer can be a busy time at your house. Hopefully this year won't be

too crazy for you.

Warmly

Donna

Well, perhaps sometime in the future, if you get freed up from

homebound obligations, you might want to consider pursuing some kind

of work that is not computer based. Then you could have a 'touch of

heaven' right here on the earth. Something to think about anyway.

Yes, I am at heather@.... Gail, I never recieved an e-mail

from you...(?) Can you please resend?

Olivia is so excited to have her cousins here for the summer! I have them all

signed up for Pottery & Ceramics, rafting, and swim lessons. I am also in the

process of setting up our big pool, again. Ugh! I spent all day trying to

level a 20 ft circle in my new backyard, yesterday. I am so sore. I must be

getting old, because it didnt seem this difficult, last year.

Please take a look at the VEPTR Parent Handbook, and let Shellie or I know what

you think about it. Have we forgotten anything?

Thanks Gail! Hugs for !!

Re: website updates

What great news on all fronts! Sounds like Liv is going to enjoy her summer,

and sounds like you are going to be extremely busy, as usual!

I tried to email you earlier in the week, and it bounced back to me - you are

still at the same email addy, right?

Give Miss Liv a hug from and I.

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying your summer. Olivia and I are

looking forward to this summer and spending time with family and friends.

Olivia is doing well, and went swimming for the 1st time this season with

her Grandma Kris, and cousins D'Angelo & Sarynah, yesterday. She is loving

life without her casts and braces, and is already developing a little tan on

her back! Which hadnt seen the light of day, for years.

The reason for this e-mail is to let you know that ISOP's website has just

been updated, and I wanted you all to take a look. We have added a VEPTR

Parent Handbook, Questions to Ask your Orthopaedic Surgeon, News Articles,

and more. We have also joined forces with Goodsearch.com, which gives you

all an opportunity to help raise a little money for ISOP, simply by using

www.goodsearch search engine and indicating ISOP. All you have to do is go

to www.infantilescoliosis.org to download the GoodSearch toolbar, and use it

as your search engine everytime you do an internet search. Each time you

use this search engine, a penny will be donated to ISOP. A penny isnt much,

but if we all forward this e-mail to our friends and family, and they use

Goodsearch as well, we could actually raise a little money for ISOP, by

years end.

ISOP is gearing up for our next ETP(Early Treatment Program) Seminar's in

NY.(August), and Sydney Australia (November). These events are being hosted

by the Childrens Hospital of Rochester, and the Childrens Hospital of

Sydney, and will include orthopaedic surgeons, pediatricians, and young

patients from Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and across the U.S., and abroad!

Our ETP Seminars give the medical community the opportunity to learn the

principles of Early Treatment for infantile scoliosis by the pioneer of this

gentle method, and world renown orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Min Mehta. These 3

day events will consist of child exams and how to diagnose infantile

scoliosis on the first day, and the next 2 days will be alotted for the

operating room. This will give the medical community hands-on training on

how to properly apply a series of plaster jackets on the appropriate

equipment. These surgeons will then implement the Early Treatment Method at

their hospitals, and more infants can benefit from this effective,

non-surgical, life saving treatment.

Please help us continue Early Treatment work in the U.S. and abroad. Help

us ensure that all children throughout the world have the opportunity to be

treated Early. Early Treatment can correct a childs spine gently and can

rid them of the deformity, permanently.

Thanks for your continued support, and for reading this long-winded e-mail!

Have a fabulous weekend.

Sincerely,

Hyatt Montoya

Gail:

I'm so sorry to read about your St. Bernard. It's one of the hardest

things you'll have to do and I understand how you feel. I apologize

for not being available sooner but we've been out of the country for

8 days on a cruise. We came home, got the bags into the house and

ran to get our dogs (Ricky and Lucy) from the dog sitter. We missed

them desperately!

If you need to chat please feel free to email me at Zovtic@....

I've just been through putting my rabbit down a few weeks ago and

I've had an extensive background with dogs (family business).

Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Take care and be well.

Love,

Ellen
