Guest guest
Happy 4th to you too, Jan. Man, I wish I had a doc like yours! I'm glad your colonoscopy only showed an ulcer. I laughed about what you told your kids cause that sounds sooooo like what I would say to mine. Amy In a message dated 7/4/2007 11:53:57 A.M. Health wise pretty good. I am now on oxycodone twice a day. Finally a doctor who decides controlling the pain is better than reacting to the pain. I had a colonoscopy (cuz I turned 50) and the only thing they found was an ulcer which could be from aspirin use or just cuz I am me. I tell my kids it is because they have always been a pain in the butt. Get to see a new rheumy on the 1st of Aug. anything is better than the one I have now. He is a complete idiot. Guest guest
, My husband will do the cooking so I don't have to worry about my processor there.? BUT I do plan on spending most of the day in the pool, AND eating lots of homemade ice cream!? The real stuff NOT EJ's Blue Bell....? No fireworks here.? Too hot and too dry AND I haven't been around fireworks for years since I found out it the sudden loud noise could take the rest of my hearing. Everybody have a safe, fun holiday.? Guest guest
Vickie, I forgot to warn against dropping the processor into the ice cream maker. LOL I cannot remember the last time I have been to a real fireworks show. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. Guest guest
Vickie and All Others, Happy 4th of July!!! This is a great holiday if you ask me, nothing could be more appropriate to celebrate with times like this and all those men over seas...or those who have died and fought for our independence. This is one of my favorite holidays. I love being in the good USA...I am so free to do as I please and I will remember all the men who let me have the freedom I do. Have Fun!!! > > , > My husband will do the cooking so I don't have to worry about my processor there.? BUT I do plan on spending most of the day in the pool, AND eating lots of homemade ice cream!? Guest guest
I just went to our parade in Morton Grove. The only state official there was Lou Lang. I started chanting " We need social services "  One of his guy said he voted for the income tax increase. I know compared to what all of you do it seems like nothing and I do want to thank you for all your hard work. I am a single parent and a special ed teacher for students with SED. Next year I will be teaching students with autism. I am not sure what age. Most of my time goes into home and school. I do want to be involved as much as I can. Please let me know what I can do besides writing letters and calling our reps. I'm doing that already. Maureen From: ellenbronfeld <egskb@...> Subject: Happy 4th IPADDUnite Date: Friday, July 3, 2009, 9:08 AM Maybe you would all like to wish your state senators and reps a happy 4th...feel free to cut and paste what I sent to mine and add your personal story: Hi Governor Quinn, Senators Cullerton and Radogno and Representatives Cross and Madigan: I hope you have a very happy 4th of July. But before you light the grill and bring out the potato salad, I would like to make just a few recommendations: Governor Quinn, thanks for talking about the need to protect social services, now do it... Your cuts have fallen disproportionately on human services. Call back the legislature on July 6th...what are you waiting for? People are suffering NOW...losing essential supports and services...the stories are incredibly sad. Pass a budget resolution that continues FY 09 budget from July 1st-Sept. 1st and work out a final solution during that time. Sign the budget bills on your desk. Create a line item budget to ensure that any new revenue, should you manage to pass a tax increase, would be used to provide community services. Representatives Madigan and Cross and Senators Radogno and Cullterton: Stop the bickering... PUT PEOPLE FIRST and roads and everything else second. Be courageous and take care of your most vulnerable citizens... We need increased revenue...raise taxes...NOW! We need you to return to Springfield sooner rather than later. While you are eating the leftovers from your 4th of July barbeque, individuals with disabilities and their families are trying to figure out what they will be doing on Monday...their programs and jobs are now gone...they have nothing to do and nowhere to go...Families will be welcoming back their loved ones who no longer have housing in the community... those with no family, will go to institutions to the tune of about $150,000 per person. In terminating medicaid funded services, Illiinois will lose more than 700 million dollars in matching funds. The 4th of July is all about freedom. There is NO freedom for individuals and their loved ones if they happen to have a disability and reside in the state of Illinois . NONE!!! ZERO! They are and always will be at the mercy of society, the community and ultimately the government. And all are failing individuals with disabilities miserably, but none more than our state government. Ellen and Noah Bronfeld...Noah is my 23 year old son, who happens to have autism. He votes! He will be losing job support, his day program and potentially his home based medicaid waiver funding... Guest guest
In this neighborhood, we have a parade. Today's lasted about 2 hours, and every time a group of veterans passed by, I yelled out, " Thank you for serving our country " and everyone clapped. It is the men and WOMEN of the service who keep us free. So it's good to remember that Freedom is not Free. Someone pays the price. I once saw a quote that the only people willing to die on your behalf were Jesus Christ and the American soldiers. God Bless America. Vickie and All Others, Happy 4th of July!!!
