Guest guest
Hi Shari: I just wrote to you off list, but want to add to what I said. What I told Shari was that one huge calming part of going thru the second bilateral surgery was the fact you go into surgery and come out with the ability to hear with the first CI. That in intself is a huge bonus. Also, the fact you now know what to expect and have learned what worked the first time around is also beneficial. For example, I had trouble with nausea from the anesthesia meds, so the second time around a wiser patient asked the anesthesiologist for anti nausea meds. They really did the trick for me the second time. I also benefitted from the ongoing improvements surgeons are always making to the surgical procedure itself, which in my case was a shorter surgery time and less surgical trauma due to improvements to the techniques. Positive thoughts are going your way next week! Take care and keep us posted with how things go for you! I am sure all will be just fine! Warmly, Carol in WI
