Guest guest Posted September 29, 2010 Report Share Posted September 29, 2010 I have the Freedom - upgraded to it in 2006 and the first one lasted 2 1/2 years before I started having any issues. The second one lasted about a year and this current one I got in May of this year. The sound has been cutting out a lot lately - like when I move my head, touch the controller or even smile or chew! I thought it was because of some corrosion on the gold strip on the battery cage and Cochlear Americas just sent me a replacement controller yesterday. The sound is still cutting out. Anyone have any experience with this? Am I looking at the coil or the processor? I can't believe it's only been 4 years and I'm already thinking " they don't make 'em like they used to!
