Guest guest
We just read the social story that I wrote and the speech person typed with this Writing 2000 program. It is the story of moving to the NEW HOUSE. Elie is NOT thrilled at this idea. We described things that I thought he would like, but so far no luck - have about 2 weeks til we move and that day he goes to sleep over camp - called SUMMER SCHOOL for him! Wish us luck - this year it is a camp for special children instead of an inclusive program - 2 strikes were enough with that plan. It is the story of moving to the NEW HOUSE. When we bought this house I talked the realtor into letting me come in and take pictures of each room before we took possession. I made a book all about the new house with photos of Andy in each room. It was still very hard for him. When we drove by the old house he would try to get out of the car. This got better after Rex built hte swing in the back of the house. But it took a good 2 months before we could drive by our old house (which is on a main thoroughfare through our neighborhood). Good luck. j
Guest guest
We are leaving to unload more STUFF at the New House. Elie is sitting in his room saying " Don't want new house. Stay home, Elie's room. So we have not made much proress in this area despite repeating and repeating, etc. We move on the 11th so I hope he calms down by then!! Guest guest
Wonderful news, Sara! Thanks for sharing. News like this gives me hope. Good luck with the move. Transitions can be so difficult. It may be very challenging for awhile, but Elie will settle in eventually. I liked Joan's idea about the new swing in the backyard. Is there anything that Elie REALLY wants that you don't have at your current house but could purchase for the new house? It may help to give him something positive to anticipate about the new house and to help distract him from his negative emotions once you get there. You know, the " a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down " theory! Just a thought. Maureen
Guest guest
We also want to install a swing for Elie at the new house. I am still hunting for a beam and a place! We also want a yard swing to go back and forth. But it will take a little time. Spoonsful of sugar only work in the very short term as he has little sense of anticipation. Thanks for the thought. Guest guest
, Have you considered going to Tijauna Mexico? I've been home a week & all is great!! It was a wonderful experience and the service was outstanding!! Dr. Ortiz & Dr. www.obesitycontrolcenter.com are great. You get a package deal w/ hotel and transportation and a wonderful woman to walk you thru it all--for $10.000.Well worth every dollar. As you can see...I cant say enough about the time down there. Most important and to top it all off, these Drs. have much more experience w/ the band. Good Luck! Tami Lynnwood Wa. 244/230/

Here are > the numbers: Congrats! Numbers like this prove that people *can* be fat and healthy! > Triglycerides, desirable--less than 150: > Last year: 160 Now: 90-something This is great! Mine hovers around the 200 mark, the number our lab forms say is the norm. Since I avoid sugary things and eat only whole grain products, anyway, the doc said it's because I eat fruit every day. Since he doesn't want me to stop eating fruit, especially that daily banana while I'm on the water pill, he's not too worried about it.
