As far as I know Ted, CAT scans are no problem at all.

No problem at all with any X Ray based diagnostics such as CT/CAT (

computerized tomography) scans.

I have an appointment next month to see a specialist about getting

replacement knees (severe arthritis). I know that with me having a cochlear

implant, that I can't have an MRI or even be in the same room as an MRI

machine.

What about CT or CAT scans, are they OK for me to have?

Thanks for any assistance.

I've had a couple of CAT scans this year - they don't affect the CI at all.

Ted,

I have had several CT scans since getting my CI, and have had no issues with

them at all.

I have also had an MRI, which is more involved, as it requires having the CI

surgeon remove the internal magnet, then getting the MRI, then having the magnet

re-inserted. So an MRI is also possible, but a bit of a pain...
