Guest guest
Hi Everyone Although not a CI user it looks more and more likely that I will be at some point. My story (i'll keep it brief ha) approx 6 years ago I was hit with SSNHL in my left ear, basically I woke up and it had completely gone it returned a week later but then went again a few weeks after never to return. In 2008 I woke up with very distorted hearing in my right ear and in the months that followed it fluctuated wildly and even returned to about 85% a year later, since then it's crashed and i've had dizziness etc. I was finally diagnosed with menieres and I've had steroid shots, sac decompression and i'm now trying the meniett device. I have a hearing aid for my right ear but doesn't really do anything useful. Unfortunately at my last sepcialist appointment I was told (he had to shout at me) that I still had too much hearing to be a candidate *sigh* so should I now be wishing that it gets worse?. My next appointment is in Dec so we shall see then I guess. Does anyone know if i'd be eligible for bilateral implants? I read somewhere it's best to have both done at the same time is this correct? I look forward to reading your stories and I can foresee a late night warm regards
