HI ALL

IT IS NOT TO DIFICULT TO PUT MUSIC ON YOUR EMAIL PAGES, OR PRETTY

PICTURES. JUST TYPE MIDI FOR MUSIC-GIFS FOR PICTURES OR JPGS.

YOU CAN ALSO DO ANIMATIONS.

THIS PAGE IS VERY RELAXING FOR ME. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT ALSO.

Nope - not with my audio overload and the migraine. I can only listen to

music that is quiet and strictly instrumental as somehow trying to

concentrate on the words makes the head hurt worse.

Difficult for a singer, as you well know. Probably I feel that is my

greatest loss - my music.

******

What is your fav song?

******

Oh man - it depends on the type of music, and the meaning.

For very special reasons, Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers is

probably at the top of the list.

Annie's Song by Denver

The Four Seasons by Vivaldi

But then.... my favorite album is Woodstock

My second favorite is The Worst of Jefferson Airplane (with Janis)

I LOVE The Moody Blues

So on really good days, when I can crank the volume, I fill the CD player

with

Woodstock, Jefferson Airplane, Vivaldi, Denver and the Moody Blues.

After that assortment I add Big Band, More Classical, Loyd Weber,

Beatles,

Yanni, The Doors, CCR, and Neil Young - preferably with Crosby, Stills and

Nash. Probably toss on one or 2 of the " favorite hymn " variety too. maybe

even some Country.

No Rap or Heavy Metal. And I am not too keen on the new stuff, mainly

because I can't relate to the teenagers anymore.

Obviously I love almost all of it.

Aren't you sorry you asked? ROTFLMAO

Dear Jo,

"Nope - not with my audio overload and the migraine."

This is my problem too. It is the trigger for attacks also.... finally.... someone who understands this!

"Difficult for a singer, as you well know. Probably I feel that is my greatest loss - my music. "

Most definitely. I thought that losing my friends and family was bad, but after time I moved on. Losing the music is far worse ~ I am not sure if I'll ever be able to play again, but I am going to try!

Yes and yes and yes. BTW - audio overload is a very common problem with

stroke victims. Also a sensitivity to light. For me they both trigger

excrutiating migraines instantaneously.

The loss of the music is like the loss of my soul. Sometimes I make a choice

to get sick by " indulging " . I love musical theatre and we buy season tickets

to the Broadway touring productions that come to the Mpls area. I love it

and I refuse to give up all the joys in my life, even though I know that 1/2

way through I am going to need ear plugs. Joe is so good about helping me

get through them because agony or not, I love it.

Hey Jo!

"BTW - audio overload is a very common problem with stroke victims. Also a sensitivity to light."

I did not know that. I have brain stem involvement with my disease and it causes me to have transient ischaemic attacks (like a mini stroke without having a stroke). This explains alot..... still not going to give up music now I have it back. I'm an addict... gotta get my hit! LOL

"The loss of the music is like the loss of my soul. Sometimes I make a choice to get sick by "indulging". I love musical theatre and we buy season tickets to the Broadway touring productions that come to the Mpls area."

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm jealous!!

I love musical theatre. When I was a youngen (lol I'm so old now) I wanted to be a stage manager. Was involved in lots of theatre work to get experience. I loved it sooooooo much! My aunt is an actress and director, and my grandfather is an actor so its in the blood. Musicals are my favourite. I still remember seeing Phantom when all the candles come out of the floor....beautiful.

Daee is actually on our list. You prolly haven't met her. Her name is Ila, she is playing the role of in a teen version of Phantom directed by Crawford himself. Cool huh.

Les Miserable is one of my favourites, but then again there is 42nd street and oh.. I shouldn't get started! I am not well enough to get to any shows these days. But ya never know...maybe one day. Miss it so much though.

Joe helps you? Is he your hubby? Jo and Joe hey...cool!!

Hope your day isn't too terrible,

Love Aisha.

Aisha,

WOW - I am impressed that we have among us. And directed by

Crawford? That man has the most incredible voice. I can listen to

him for hours and hours.

HAHA - don't get me started on musical theatre and favorites. No way! How

can you pick. Just can't.

Joe is my um, well, Significant Other. I have to use the term loosely as we

have only been together for not quite 5 months so it is all still pretty new.

We only see each other a couple times a week because of his job and his

family commitments. He is caring for his 24 year old developmentally

disabled son. So his evenings and weekends are filled with that and we find

time when we can. He has only been separated about 8 months, and his son

still doesn't understand what happened, so I stay away. No need to confuse

the boy until we decide if our relationship is going to " stick " .

But Joe is wonderful. He spoils me rotten and I eat it up. And try to do

the same for him. Boggles my mind that he is willing to get involved with me

given all the issues I live with, but he said that I am still the person I am

and that is what matters and we will enjoy whatever time we can. Aren't I

lucky??

Who would have thought at this stage of my life?

Actually, I have to run. I am fixing him lunch today and he will be here in

about 2 1/2 hours.

Have a great day!

Jo

Hmm I never really though of music as an issue. I will

start re-thinking. summer doesn't get to see videos

but I have to admit Baby one more time by brittany

Spears is one of her favourites. She also likes Spice

girls and ugh Shania Twain' Man I feel like a Woman.!

She doesn't hear these much in my house as I admit to

listening to Limp Bizcuit,Korn and the Tea Party

myself again not while she is awake and generally when

I have my walkman on at the gym. She calls her

Brittney Spirits and I don't know that she is aware of

what these groups look like It is more exposure at

daycare. Boy there really is a lot to think about

isn't there. I guess all i can do is hope to provide

strong moral values and a stable homelife and listen

when she comes home with these issues. I wonder are

children with ocd more easily led? I hope not. Right

now Summer is so strongly independent I don't think so

but feedback would be great. Thanks Teela

I prefer mainly progressive metal, notably Symphony X, a combination of

heavy metal, classical influences, symphonic influences, and technical

virtuosity on all instruments, including vocals.

I concur with Dr. Siff that gyms should let members check out CD players and

the like, and keep the gym silence. Then, everyone is happy...people that

want silence have it, and people that want music have it. I personally use

a Sony Network Walkman, which is a digital music player with 64 MB of ram.

It is the size of a small cigarrette lighter and carries 60 minutes of music

at the highest sampling quality (better than CD at 132 kbps), or 80 minutes

at near-CD quality (114 kbps if I remember correctly). It's very convenient

for lifting since it is so small and can fit right in your pocket.

Hey Donna, does Maddie like or play the piano? Seth loves it! He sits right

up on the bench and doesn't even pound...plays one high key, then one low

one. OVER and OVER and OVER!!!!!! LOL Montyman's Mom...good for you. You

must still have a brain that works well! All that counting and fingering is

too much for my old brain, though I'd love to learn to play someday.

Gail, just between you and me, I started piano thinking it would HELP the

brain cells....you know, excercise em some. Well,....it sounded good at the

time. LOL!!

I was doing ok with the left and right hand, but then she threw in the

peddle. Boy, is this not fun! And then there is Montyman the one who barks

at me if I make a mistake. At least my music teacher is nice. By the way,

montyman use to play music for himself. His favorite was drums. He was

getting really good on them, too, then he quit. He has a keyboard in his

room that he stole from me, and he plays that, but only if he has the door

closed. If I open the door he shuts it off....I sure wish I could get into

these kid's brains sometimes and see what thay think about....like a tv

projector on the wall, wouldnt that be interesting?

Too cute Gail!!!! Maybe he'll be your little Beethoven!!! Maddie once

in a blue moon bangs on the piano, but mostly she sits her butt on it, which

is NOT good for the piano!!! ;-)

Naw, he won't be my Beethoven but that's his favorite composer! LOL

Moonlight and Pathetique (sp) Sonatas are his favorite songs. He always runs

to the couch and sits quietly to listen to them. I even recorded Becky

playing them so I could play it for him to calm him when he gets hyper.

Nope, not the same thing! LOL He wants live music! LOL Well Donna, Maddie

sitting on the piano is better than dribbling her ball on it, huh? All your

kids play piano? Wow! You have some smart kids! LOL Latin and piano? God

gave me NO talent for languages or music. Or art or writing or, or, or!

HEY, don't DARE beat up on my friend that way!!!!!!! You are a very gifted

person and many of us reap the benefits!!!! ;-)

AS for piano, Duff is fierce about it. He taught himself how to play when

we first got married and always felt strongly that if the kids could at least

sit down and have some fun on it, it would be a gift they'd have the rest of

their lives. Joe ended up switching to guitar (he still takes lessons and

writes his own music) but we got him an electric keyboard for x-mas (n

got one too), so he's having fun. n is probably the best of the kids

at piano. hasn't taken lessons since she graduated high school, but

every now and then she'll go bang out On my Own, from Le Miz (her fave). I

guess it's like riding a bike. Now ME? Can't play a note!!!! But my Dad

had a great voice and so do both my sisters (My little sister sings in her

husband's band---she belts out Bobby McGee better than Janis Joplan did it),

so music was always important in my family too. Maybe I'll become inspired

to take lessons like Donna......er in a few years...LOL

I like to feel like a big snarly powerful beast when I work out...to

that end, my favorites are:

White Zombie - More Human Than Human

Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod (Great for cardio - it's FAST)

Tool - Intolerance

Powerman 5000 - Strike the Match

Nine Inch Nails - Head Like A Hole

Then when I'm cooling down I get all happy with new wave from the late

80s & early 90s.
