Guest guest
Oooohhh, poor Debbie! What a day you've had. And I thought mine started out rough today opening an unknown partially frozen bottle of pop at work only to get sprayed all over with pop...thinking, geez, I got to work 1/2 hour late, now am I going to have to go back home to change??? I'll take this any day over what you went through. Hopefully you will heal quickly! Take it easy!  ________________________________ From: DEBORAH COLE <deborah_anne419@...> Sent: Tue, July 27, 2010 3:15:37 PM Subject: UPdate appt.  Adventures of Debbie... This is no joke but to some it's funny. Even I laughed later in the day yesterday. We parked the car on some street not so far from PSU and there is a bar with tables and chairs in front and I am walking to go to an ADA Event celebrating 20 ears of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I ahve my Dragon boat Team at a table and ILR where I volunteer at just as I walked by a table someone seated scoots their chair out and i step over and fall in a cut out tree where the soil is not level with the sidewalk. Feel and hear " Crack! " and i went down flat on my back then firetruck arrived. Oh boy were they hunks! I lost my CI in the fall and started feeli9ng around and someone put it in my hand. I ws persistant to not let them call paramedics so they gave me ice pack. I went on walking 4 blocks on a fractured painful foot and went inside Hoffman Hall at SU to let my friends know we came to show support for them but Debbie got injured so we left and walked back to the car. From there went to OHSU as this was my follow up on CI and had been 2 months since last appt and my hearing sentences and tones has improved 30% since last time so we are all hapy about that. I am tough and refused to miss that appt. I was pushed around in a wheel chair then from there head off to the ER and exrays and there is a Fracture, torn muscle and ligaments and bad sprain. Today i went to PCP and got a big boot put on now I'm off to make appt to an orthopedic specialist. So how was your day? Have a great day! Debbie Cole

Guest guest
I've been without a computer for the past week. We had a bad storm and a power surge blew out my computer. I missed a lot. I afraid I don't know what happened to Debbie but I'm very sorry and I hope everything's all right. I had a disaster surgery in 2002, but I had a successful one in 2004. Trish UPdate appt. Guest guest
Ay, yay, yay, Debbie! I can't even believe that! I once fractured my foot and it's a major drag. And then walking four blocks...ouch! You are a tough cookie, that's for sure. Here's to a speedy recovery and congratulations on your successful CI appt. Guest guest
Thank you everyone. I ahd 1 1/2 vicodins and the pain is totally gone it seems. But my stomache didn't agree with that medication so no more of that for me. I'm just unhappy cuz i can't walk around and go to the amrina and Dragon boating with my team. I saw my PCP this morning and she didn't like the looks of the x rays so it's off to an orthopedic specialist. That's coming up 2nd week of august and I am wearing a funny boot. Have a great day! Guest guest
Yup - and as you know, I've had my fair share of experiences will sprained/torn ligaments in my feet. Which, after almost a year following my last incident, I think I'm pretty much back to normal...oh no, does that mean I'm due for another " accident " ??? Yikes!! ________________________________ From: C <rclark0276@...> Sent: Tue, July 27, 2010 5:06:13 PM Subject: Re: UPdate appt. , Nothing like hearing about an experience like Debbie's to put things in perspective, eh?
