Hi Dan,

You can do just about anything with your CI's. I think the rule of thumb

would be, if you're afraid that it would fall off, then remove it. Treat it

like you did your HA's (if you had them). I never wore my HA's on roller

coasters, unless it was one that was slow and didn't jar me around much. If

you have a risk of going completely under the water with your processors,

remove them. They are waterproof but not if you go totally under water.

They're splash & sweat resistant (with the rechargeables). I would wear

them while playing any sporting activity. Just use toupee tape that you can

purchase from Sally's (Tophat). Stick it on the processor and then hold it

to the location that you place it behind your ear for a few seconds. This

keeps it on. I really have to pull to get mine off. I typically wear the

toupee tape whenever I have running, jumping, jarring going on. If I was in

the ocean, I would probably wear mine unless I was close to the waves and

risked getting drenched by them. Personally, I would not be comfortable

going on a rollercoaster where my head is getting slammed back and forth

between a head rest. Some of those roller coasters can be pretty brutal!

No big deal with bowling. I actually saw a video not long ago of a kid who

loved swimming and parents used plastic to seal his processor and then put

on a swimmers cap. Here's the video for that

Hope this helps,

Subject: Doing activities with the CI ?

H,

Now, that it's the summer, it got me wondering what activity I can or

cannot do with the CI.

For instance, going on a roller coaster in an amusement park or going

swimming in an ocean that has big waves in it ? Or on a lesser scale,

running around in a street hockey game or swinging the bat in a

stickball game ?

Or what about rolling down an heavy ball in bowling and such related

activities ?

Please advise. I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance !
