Guest guest
Meghan, Yes, I think it's possible to conduct an entire evaluation within a few days -- especialy if you will be traveling out of state. My circumstances were a little unusual given the fact that several of my appointments had to be cancelled due to testing equipment not coming back from repair in a timely manner. (My CI center is also one of the largest in the region which means that they see alot of CI recipients and prospective CI candidates.) If it were not for the delay with the testing equipment, my evaluation would have taken a few days or a month as opposed to 6 months. I wonder if you could receive funding through an organization like the Lions Club or Kiwanis? Guest guest
I haven't even contacted Lions or Kiwanis yet. I probably won't for a while. I just sent an email to my boss at work, to see if I could start working enough hours so that I can get the benefits (if they have the insurance benefit). I explained to him my situation and such. And if that's not possible, as much as I would hate to, I'd have to find another job. My counselor was telling me of a place that were hiring, they have a pretty good pay (better than what I'm currently paid at my current job), and I could get full-time and get the benefits. We'll see what my boss says. I would have much rather talked to my supervisor about this, but I don't want to depend on her to do all the talking to the boss, since it's my problem and not hers. So now, to start saving up some money for an evaluation... (ok, new tires should be my priority at this time... Gotta love life).
