Guest guest
Well.... but.... he has basetthound in him too, could that possibly tame down the other half??? Notice I called him and him ???? No doubt I drove the 20 odd miles in my 747 sounding car to see the little guy. They know me there, I brought pictures of my kitty I got from there last year LOL, they knew I was coming and once in the door a furry little waggly tailed creature with sad little eyes was there in my hands staring up at me........ ahem...... clearning my throat. But..... and you would be proud of me....... I left without him, to think it over. And I have been back and forth alot in my mind about this over the past two hours. Here it is: * I am still unemployed........... * I need another pet like a hole in my head......... * Finances are extremely tight............. * I haven't had my hair highlighted now in 4 months.............sigh * I am renting, so any damage would be my out of pocket.......... * he is not hypeallergenic and I suffer from asthma ..... * cost is $300.00. but........... * He would get me out of the house....... and that is a good thing, because I can go for weeks and not venture out of my home. * We would go on walks - exercise. * He would give me that intense and demanding love that even my cat's won't venture there because they are too independent, LOL, that my orangekitty provided me with and that I miss terribly. Why he could even sleep on my bed with me He would be an excellent companion * The cats would keep him company during the day after I get my new job What do you think? " " REMEMBER, ALL PUPPIES ARE ON THEIR BEST BEHAVIOR IN THE PET STORE > (WHO TOUGHT THEM THAT?) AND ABOUT 1 HOUR AFTER CHECKING OUT THEIR > NEW SURROUNDINGS IN YOUR HOME........LOOKOUT!! ONE OF YOU WILL BE > HEADED towards a padded room!!!<grin> " " Oh Jeff..... I was screaming with laughter when I read this. This is soo true !!!!! Where did you get Cujo from Jeff?? " " btw, I had done some research years ago about Superman and his > depression....maybe a kryptonite\lexapro\pamalor mix would have > helped! <But seriously, it was really tragic > " " Yes, it was very tragic. I agree, but didn't kryptonite make him weak and he lost his powers or am I thinking of something else? Tomorrow, me and Midas have an appointment. The range is $100- $400.00.... yikes........ People kept staring at me driving my 747 down the road, it really got kinda loud !!!! Guest guest
Same kind of deal here...I had become unemployed, had to put an older Beagle (my first) down a month earlier (just old and worn out, conjestive heart failure) and the then younger beagle was so sad...missed his buddy! At first when I brought Cujo home the other beagle growled and fled to my bedroom. he would have nothing to do with him for about 3 days then it all changed...they are inseparable now!. Basset and Beagle eyes are the gotcha! ONLY YOU CAN ANSWER THE PLUSES AND NEGATIVES ON THIS ONE!!! A PET IS FOREVER. I GUESS SKITTLES IS NOW CUJO IN YOUR MIND....I GOT HIM FROM A LOCAL PET SHOP BUT I AM SURE HE WAS FROM A PUPPY MILL EVEN THOUGH HE WAS PAPERED. Make sure if you get him, he has a health guarantee and shots!!!! I think you do what you need to do where the heart is concerned. However $300 sems alot for a mixed breed??? Bassetts are really funny since they think they are running 100 mph but are slow as molassis...I wonder how he/she caught up to the Jack Russel (parents)to mate or maybe the bassett was too slow to get away from the Jack ! <grin> The other thing to remember is the yearly Vet bill....If he/she will make you happy then that is what a pet is for!!! Just put on your football helmet first! There is always the local pound where you can rescue a doggie too! Hint if you get the Bassett mix...get a wide water bowl...their ears are so long, they get wet when they drink!!!!!!! Well, I now have a new 50 " large screen TV, 1 new ceiling fan, 6 new light fixtures,4 new plumbing bath faucets, repaired a large crack in the sheetrock since our last earthquake...just a little painting to do and then to put up a new over range Microwave....will need help for that project...heavy! And on the 7th day he rested (in my case fell out).... If you are a homeowner, you learn to be an electrician and plumber or you go broke! There is also much satisfaction doing it yourself! My sister still has the silver spoon stuck way up there and hires a decorator! PS: At least I do not have to highlight my hair...It is almost all white now! A funny story (true) When I was walking the casino floor in my last position, a female patron actually asked if it was my natural color....without even skipping a breath, I answered... " No I dye it this color " ...Sheese! jeff > > > > > > > > > > > This is my second week of combining Lex with > > > Pamelor. > > > > It > > > > > > > > seems > > > > > > > > > to > > > > > > > > > > be > > > > > > > > > > > leveling out my panic and anxiety and I can > > actually > > > > go > > > > > in > > > > > > a > > > > > > > > > store > > > > > > > > > > > without an attack. Guest guest
I am sorry to hear this Jeff. I know how difficult putting down a beloved pet is (((hugs))). Skittles it is, sorry I keep calling him Cujo !!!!!!!!! I have decided against buying the little pup, unless they bring down the price. I would go for $100.00 no more. I had called around to several bassett breeders and they felt for a mixed breed that was too much too and also, bassett and jack russel's have some pretty bad genetic issues with them and not to know the parents might cause me soo awful vet bills and I can't afford this now. So, sadly I am not going to be buying him unless the price goes way down. Wow, sounds like you have been very busy being a handy person at home. One of the benefits of being a homeowner, you get a return on your investment. Sorry, kinda down today, found out my $1500 deductible is applied to mental health and so now that is out of reach for me. I can't go to see my shrink anymore and that is a real blow !!!
