Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

When I told my doctor that anxiety and depression had returned

during a stressful period he said that the body reacting to stress

is good and normal.

But are anxiety and depression ever that ?

Anxiety and depression are never good when they last a long time...

But the fact that you responded to a stressful period indicates that

the medication is not making you emotionally numb. That, in and of

itself, is a good sign. Some anti-depressants can cause you to feel

completely numb. Celexa did this for me...

My question to you is this: Were the feelings of anxiety and

depression appropriate to the circumstances, or were they blown out

of proportion? Did these feelings fade as the stressful period

ended, or did they stay with you?

If your responses were appropriate to the situation and they went

away when the stressors went away, I'd say that IS a good thing. No

treatment for depression, no matter how successful, will ensure that

you feel happy and calm all the time. A successful treatment simply

means that your emotions and reactions are appropriate to the

situation at hand.

If these feelings of anxiety and depression persist, I'd go back to

the doctor and discuss them again. Good luck. :)

It's hard for me to judge. December = leak in kitchen had to take

out floor, dry and put in new. Whole family had stomach flu. Then

one of the kids brought lice home from kindergarten and we had to

treat him and the house for that. Washing machine broke. Car broke

down. Then we had 13 people here on Christmas eve. 5 for breakfast

the next day. On the 27th and 28th all I wanted to do was sleep. BUT

I am sure that other people would have handled all of the above just

fine with no reaction, even if in a full time job (which I don't

have). Then we had a 7 year old girl spend a week with us (her mom

passed away in 04 so we take care of her as much as we can). That we

I noticed that I was not as motivated as I usually am. I was not

able to give her as much of myself as I normally do. Jonasuary my 2

kids have birthdays and ops ok the dishwasher broke at some point in

there ;oP lol ... then we had a family birthday party for 14 people.

Then we had the kindergarten over for a party and a week later the

kids on the block. Had a day of being super tired but went back to

normal. Then as things started to clam down I felt my symptoms

growing ... jumpy, anxious, depressed.

> ended, or did they stay with you?

The last time they stayed and so as you know yesterday I saw my doc.

Last night I went to a feel good movie :) !
