Guest guest
Hello all -- First of all, thanks for all of your thousands of insightful posts that I have been sifting through for the past few days since I joined this group. I began 5 mg of Lex on Monday, which would make today my 5th day, and have come across a side effect that I can't seem to find any mention of in the archives. Since I started, I have had a constant feeling like I have to burp, but can't. This feeling is persistent and does not go away even many hours after I take the pill. I have to swallow repeatedly in order to push the air down because if I don't I have the feeling that something is lodged in my throat. Needless to say, this is very annoying. I am writing because I am trying to figure out of this could possibly be a side effect or if something else completely unrelated is causing it. Just before I started I had been taking Trim Spa due to weight related depression (5'2 " , 125 pounds! aaaah), and I am trying to rule out the possibility that one of those pills is lodged in my esophagus causing this feeling, since that has happened to me before with other meds. Sorry for the long winded post, but anybody have any insight for me? Thanks, Holli
Guest guest
It's listed as a side effect. If you go to lexapro.com and click on the perscribing info it will download in PDF format so you can read it.... Under Gastrointestinal Disorders. Guest guest
Hi Holli ~ ~ How long has this been going on??? You would think that after a few hours it would be absorbed into your system and pass on down if the pill became stuck. I have not had this reaction at all to Lexapro but that does not mean that it is not causing this reaction. Do you think you should call your doctor about this? Sorry, Holli, wish I could have been more help Dana > Hello all -- > > First of all, thanks for all of your thousands of insightful posts > that I have been sifting through for the past few days since I > joined this group. Guest guest
You sound like you're feeling a bit better? Not as overwhelmed? I know that feeling well. It's taken me many years to learn to cope with it. It turned me into a procrastinator from he**. I learned to tackle bits and pieces at a time and not worry about what didn't get done etc. And on some days...I still crawl into bed and read a good book or watch a movie. Pamper yourself. :-) Do for yourself what you would tell or do for a very good friend. After all...if you aren't your own best friend...who will be?
