Guest guest
Hello all, I just wanted to give you a little updated info from both my NP who monitors me taking lexapro from a mental health office as well as my gynecologist. I will be planning on getting pregnant in the near future and have had recent apts. with 2 of my DR's with questions about taking lex and becoming pregnant. They both completely assure me that it is very safe to take the dose I take 10mgs of this drug while I am pregnant. I was also conserned about breast feeding. Again a very normal low dose and it will excreted into the breast milk but nothing has been shown to hurt the baby. Both DR's have told me how much more important that I am OK (being treated for anxiety) than it is for me not to take the medication. I am just being treated for anxiety and a very anxious person could lose the baby in some circumstances. I am also more likely to get postpartum depression than someone who does not suffer from GAD. So we all decided it would be best for me to continue to take my lex and be closely monitored while pregnant. M
