I have not had time to read through all the posts but skimmed the

last few.

Big hugs to Shauna. Thanks also to those that responded to my post

earlier.

Here is the update :

I did not go to bed after my last post .I thought ... " Gee I wonder if

my " real long " extention cord will reach the pipes outside where in

the fall ...when there was no snow .... I tried unsuccessfuly to

remove the hose from the thingamajig that also has the heat tape on

it.

So ... i got outside and took the board off ( after much tunneling)

Now in the Spring when I put the hose on there ... it leaked so I

used black goop ,,but apparently it still leaked cause the insulation

and heating tape (going down to the ground from the tap part of the

pipe was frzen all around the pipe).Where the tap part seperates

into 2 other pipes that also have heattape around them .

The Main pipe that goes into the ground with the tap part (and the

hose) has kind of a plastsic casing around it which was filled with

the frozen insulation from the leaking hose.)

I was able to get my arm down there and pull out all the frozen

insulation .The top of this plasic casing is also why it is hard to

get the hose on and off.You have to kind of push it to get your

hands around the hose screwer oner thing .(I'm sure this part of

the hose has a name just can't think of it .)

Anyway I got the hair dryer onto the end of the hose that was stuck

on with black goop and after awhile the black goop melted abit .

I was just so mad by this time and cold that after banging it

with a rubber hammer and trying to use plyers on it I grabbed it and

I think I got possessed by the incredible hulk cause the thing

moved !!!!!

After I got it off, a chunk of ice fell out the nozzel of the pipe

but just a small chunk.

I came inside..still no water.... so went back out and kept the hair

dryer on it for about an hour on and off so as not to burn out hair

dryer.I figured if I ever did get water back i was definitely gonna

need a shower )LOL

Finally they unfroze and yep got water back.

I put dry insulation, which luckily was in the house and left

over from the gazebo, into the tap nozzel and with insulation,a

bathrobe, foam padding, and duct tape have that sucker sealed

solid .Then I took the screen door that blew off a few winters ago

and put that up against the skirting and packed the snow back around

it so NO wind can get under.

It was afternoon by this time so I went to bed and left the taps

running .

Only one thing ... The insulation I used is yellow ....When I looked

at the hair dryer ...Im amazed it kept working cause there is all

this yellow stuff clogging the sides of it .

Not even gonna go try it .

So now I have to pack . Plane leaves at 5:20 pm tomorrow and it is

10:30 pm now .

Gonna go pack now .

wondering whether to take the hair dryer..LOL
