Guest guest
Four months on Lex and still grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw. PDoc added Buspar and it has helped a little but not completely alleviating the problem. Char About teeth grinding I am still grinding my teeth. Please, please someone tell me this stops after awhile. Maybe we could take a poll on this? Thanks, Jolene
Guest guest
I'm still clenching away. At times it seems to ease up, but it's back within days. This has been going on for years, but I didn't know it was antidepressant caused until I started Lex and joined this group. I intend to question my psychiatrist about it when I see him in early March. > I am still grinding my teeth. Please, please someone tell me this stops after awhile. Guest guest
~ What antidepressant were you on before Lexapro. If you have been doing it for years, it must not be from the Lexapro only since it is new. Thanks, Jolene Re: About teeth grinding I'm still clenching away. Guest guest
I grind my teeth like crazy. I can feel where the enamel is gone. It's very annoying. My jaw is sore alot. I bought a $2 football mouthpiece and molded it to my mouth. I cut the excess plastic off so that it fits comfortably in my mouth. I sleep with it in. I think it would be a wise idea to do a poll. Thanks, > ~ What antidepressant were you on before Lexapro. Guest guest
Prozac, then Celexa, then Lexapro. I'm sure I was clenching while on Celexa. I don't remember about Prozac. While On Prozac I was usually sleeping! Re: About teeth grinding > > > I'm still clenching away. At times it seems to ease up, but it's back within > days. Guest guest
I have experienced this problem with just about every SSRI known to man. As soon as I stop taking them it goes away. There is an interesting article about using Buspar to control this at: http://hdlighthouse.org/see/care/bruxism.htm Char Re: About teeth grinding Prozac, then Celexa, then Lexapro. Guest guest
> I am still grinding my teeth. Please, please someone tell me this stops after awhile. Maybe we could take a poll on this? I had that when trying to sleep the first week or so, but then it vanished. I found taking it in the morning then I am aware if I start to do that so I can control it. When it happens half-asleep at night it's a little harder to be aware of what you're doing. BoB
