Today, I had a job interview. I was my first interview in three

months. At the end of February I will have been unemployed 5 months.

I left the interview devastated. The employer ridiculed my resume

and came out and told me my 30 year career and experience was below

industry standards for what is expected now and made fun of some

spelling mistakes I made. He called me archaetic and wished me luck

in finding a job. I got up in the middle of one of his sentences and

without saying anything to him, walked out.

I have been without a job now almost 5 months and really am in

financial straights right now and to have him riducule my work

history that I have always been proud of just cut way too deep. Not

to mention the hugh disappointment of not securing a job today.

I have been out driving around my neighborhood most of the evening as

I could not bring myself to come home and sulk, it was just too hugh.

I am home now and am wondering how I am going to react to this. The

next 24 hours should tell me about any cycling. Think I will call my

shrink tomorrow to see if I need to hop onto something else - like

Risperdol for a few days to control any spikes in mood cycling.

I haven't cried yet and that concerns me too. Just very numb. I am

sure my dreams tonight will be horrendous.

I had a similar experience earlier this month, except it was

actually after I got the job. I knew from the interview that the

woman would be very difficult to work for, but I needed the job so

bad that I was just sure I could make it work. She treated me like

an idiot for two days. I left at the end of the second day after

she embarrased me terribly in front of two of her clients. I am

afraid that I didn't handle the situation as well as you, because I

had to tell her what a bad attitude she has before I left. The

whole experience has left me afraid to even look for another job and

because of my financial situation that is not an option. I have to

find a job!

Thanks for sharing your experience. It helps me to know that others

are going through similar situations. We will make it through

this....

What a cool idea! Would be neat to know X number of steps = a walk across such & such state. I don't own a pedometer but if we agreed to do something like that here I think I could borrow my mom's.

I definately wish you luck in winning some prizes for your walking.

Definately count me in for the walking challange!

Blessings,
