Guest guest
It is so reassuring to read positive posts! I feel like there are sunny days ahead instead of the fear of constant anxiety- Thanks so much!! >>> lexduder@... 02/03 7:49 AM >>> HI, I recently introduced myself. Diagnosed general anxiety disorder. Always felt stressed, anxious, figety, worring all the time, constant back pain, multiple thoughts spinning through my head, and depression from feeling like this all the time. I felt like I was going to explode, thougth maybe I looked calm on the outside. Anyway long story short, got bad enough, went for help, couldn't figure it out on my own, however much I kept trying. Lexapro 10mg once a day. Now on for 7 days.......no anxiety, no depression, if any, lasts like 2 seconds. No spinning thoughts racing through my mind.....now I can concentrate on ONE thing at a time without multiple other thoughts trying to butt in. Very surprising....no back pain. Wild.....anxiety causes muscle tension which causes pain. I thought I had a back condition! I'm not saying this is the cure for my condition, but I feel way better and am able to function and feel somewhat normal to enjoy my day and do what I must do to live. A moments peace...I hope it lasts! One week down, the rest of my life to go. Hope this helps anyone considering taking Lexapro. Lex
Guest guest
You have to understand I have felt like this for a LONG time, thinking it was just me, something I wasn't doing right, or not handling the correct way. Just something I would figure out in my own time. Well alot of time has passed and I decided I wasn't going to wait another day. Well, it was me, something in me, something biological. I'm just glad there are people out there who study this stuff and find treatments for people. Hang in there. Lex > It is so reassuring to read positive posts! Guest guest
Hi Lex ~ ~ what was soo astounding about the Lexapro as it calmed down the wild chatter in my head. I called it white noise. I think there is a book out there about white noise. Now I can concentrate on one through at a time too without all those racing throughs. I though I was the only one who experienced racing thoughts all the time. Initially I had no thoughts in my mind, too zoned out at the highter dosaging - 10 milligrams. Now, down to 5 milligrams, I am about to think straight. Way to go Lex, glad Lex is helping you !!!!!!! Dana Rose > HI, I recently introduced myself. Diagnosed general anxiety > disorder. Guest guest
Hi ~ ~ I have been on them all. Due to my exquisite sensitivity to medications it has limited me to what I could adjust to. Lithium worked well for me but my body hated it, my mind loved it. Same with Celexa. My last drug of choice that I could get along with was Pamelor. Hope this helps Dana rose > > HI, I recently introduced myself. Diagnosed general anxiety > > disorder. Guest guest
I think that's one of the biggest reliefs for me. I wondered what it would be like to shut off all that white noise. I have to agree with you, I kinda feel like I have no thoughts in my head also, which has been rather invited by me, considering how I felt before (too many thoughts). However, I can actually get things done now, feel relaxed and able to concentrate on whatever I set out to do, no worry about doing it, no other thoughts intruding prying me away from the task at hand. I felt really foggy when first taking it, but after a week it's lessened quite a bit. Guess time will tell. How long have you been on the 10mg dose and did you notice the " no thoughts " thing improving? Let me know how you feel after you're on the 5mg dose for a while, I might try the same. Curious now. I often wondered if there was anyone else out there that had all those thoughts running through their mind all at once. It was like a constant flipping between one topic to the next, making it very hard to concentrate. Thanks for sharing. Nice to know I'm not alone. Lex > > HI, I recently introduced myself. Guest guest
I was just wondering if anyone has any good books on therapy, self-help, depression, anxiety, that they could recommend? >>> lexduder@... 02/04 7:55 AM >>> I think that's one of the biggest reliefs for me. Guest guest
Hi Lex ~ ~ You are not alone about the chatter in your head. I have heard alot of people have that. My shrink explained to me that in some people, like me, the neurons become overly excited and the medication dampens this down and quiets the neurons. When I read the book titled " White Noise " , it made alot of sense. A seizure is triggered soemtimes from an electrical storm of neurons misfiring too and it has never been ruled out that I have a seizure disorder. When I get into a crowd of people or a family gathering, I can't focus on anything. Of course part of that is ADD, but it seems when I come away from all that situation/confusion, I have this very loud ringing in my ears too and the overstimulation is tough to come down from. This happens to me sometimes in the grocery store. A co- worker mentioned to me that I looked very disoriented or confused in the grocery store one day and I was just minding my own business and didn't have a clue what he was talking about. The chatter usually gets very loud when it gets close to the time to take my meds. I remember Lex that as a child I wished I was deaf. Dana Rose > > > HI, I recently introduced myself.
