I take Lexapro for panic disorder, and Klonopin is actually causing sexual side effects for me, not the Lexapro... I wanted to add Wellbutrin at first, but we realized that it could actually undo the anti-panic effects... I would cut the 5mg in half for about two to three weeks, then go every other day for two weeks, then quit altogether. Guest guest
Just wanted to throw my $0.02 in about Lexapro and Wellbutrin... Before Lexapro, doctors often prescribed Celexa, then added Wellbutrin to counteract the sexual side effects. (The combination, which started largely in the Northeastern part of the country, became nicknamed " Cel-Well " ). With Lexapro, you get mostly the same effects. This may be the route for a lot of people, HOWEVER, Wellbutrin is contraindicated for a lot of people who might be taking Lex for anything other than depression. Panic disorder, for example... Lexapro can help manage panic disorder, but Wellbutrin can kick the panic back up again. Sex drive comes back, but so does the panic, and now you're on two pills canceling each other out. Just remember to always seek out a good psychiatrist when possible (over a general MD) and hang in there. All the best... and happily holidays from Texas... in Houston
