Hello :

Sounds Bizarre to me!

In my experience as a patient, a Doctor would WANT to talk to a

patient after having received your initial Fax (since you were

unable to reach her by phone). I would have thought the Doctor would

have made a recommendation for a med and then asked you to research

it...not have you pick from a list!!!At least she could offer her

opinion about what may be best for you!! As you have heard a million

times by now, these meds react differently with each of us and

unfortunately finding the right one/dose is hit and miss!

Anyway My own experience with Effexor was that it worked very well,

but the side effects were awful (again that was for me!. getting off

it was a miserable experience! I am currently on Lexapro and have

never tried Prozac myself. I have gained about 20lbs during my time

on Lexapro and have cut my food intake (even though I could probably

eat a horse!)

Sounds as though you may wish to begin hunting for another doctor...

(just my opinion though...only you can make this decision of

course.) Just remember that this is a service that YOU are paying

for and you should be confident and comfortable with your doctor.

Good luck with all!!!!!

Any doctor worth her salt would want to put more effort into your well being

than just a fax. It

sounds like she is trying to wrap things up before the holidays.

Hang in there - see what she can do for you when she feels like it, and in

addition to

" researching " drugs which may work for you (i'm of the opinion that you probably

know more

about yourself than any doctor can pretend to), you can research a new doctor

that can meet

your needs. They are out there, in droves, waiting for your business!

Don't EVER continue to go to a doctor you don't like!

Have you thought about finding another doctor? Any doctor that patronized me in

such a manner would be either getting blasted or not be my current doc any

longer.

Your weight concerns are very real and alot of people on these drugs have the

same problem. If the medication is doing what it should be then how in the world

are you " stress eating " ?!?
