Guest guest
Hi , It is supposed to be much better. If you go to Lexapro.com, click on FAQ's and run the Isomer demo, it explains it really well. It is hard to believe it took so long to get to this improved state. Sorry to hear about the shingles...I know it is no fun. I will be on meds for the rest of my life so the one with the least side effects will be the best. We are fortunate to live in a time where medical advances work for us...who knows what else they will come up with? Be well, , I switched because I have a new Dr.who thinks Lex is much better than paxil, with fewer side effects. I feel good but has been hard to tell because I came down with the shingles which bothered me. I have been on Lexapro 3 mo.had shingles 6 wks, still have pain in my ribs. This new psc dr.thinks it is the best med out,I have to stay on low dose maintance dose for depression and panic attacks. It does seem to be the best one about not gaining weight and Paxil the worst,i know a couple of people who gained 40 lbs. while on 40 mgs of paxil. hope it works better for you. Guest guest
Hi Terry, just wanted to share my input on Paxil. I took it for a year and a half and gained 15 pounds right away. I didn't like it at all! I stayed on it for my last pregnancy and for a year of breastfeeding and then weaned off slowly......I DID lose the full 15 pounds within 6 months of quitting the Paxil but it did take a full 6 months. I was on Lex but only for a month as I got a bit hostile and angry on it so the doc recommended I go off. I gained no weight during that time and actually lost my appetite. Hope this helps and good luck going off the Effexor! (I soooo hate going off these drugs as it makes me very sick...)
