New to group and need some advice-medications/Lexapro

Hi everyone,

I have been going through a very rough time for a few months since losing my

smell and taste after a cold and it never came back. its called anosmia.

I was put on Buspar and that made me so sick with more anxiety, diarrhea, and a

whole host of other side effects. I was only on it for 3 weeks and yesterday I

stopped it after a quick taper.

I was then put on Lexapro 10mg (started at 5mg for 2 days last Tuesday) and have

been taking the 10mg for alittle over a week. It too has made me very sick where

I can't get out of bed, too weak, tired, dizzy, terrible sweats, fainty, b/p

spikes, rapid heart, palpitations, jittery, insomnia and loss of libido. I can't

even function. I want to stop the drug, all drugs. I don't know what to do

anymore. My husband is against drugs and tells me to just quit all the poisons.

My question is this...are these terrible side effects normal and would it get

better? also, can you just stop if you have been on it like me for such a short

time. what should I do, stop, taper, stay on (if I knew side effects like I am

having would stop)

I spoke with pdoc and she told me she never had a patient with such terrible

side effects and go to ER, but I know what they do there, put you on benzos. I

already went that terrible direction and went through a horrific w/d from xanax

4 yrs ago, so NO benzos for me. besides my husband is not supportive and

wouldn't take me anyway.

I can't exist like this anymore....any advice or suggestions would be so

appreciated.
