Guest guest
I don't know...google cholesterol and SSRI's or even specifically Lexapro. I had my cholesterol shoot up after about 3 years on Effexor. I'm off the Effexor. Haven't had the money to get back to the doctor for a third cholesterol level. I eat right but I'm still not real good with the exercise portion. I have to wonder the same thing. And the weight gain certainly doesn't help, does it. Sigh. I'm battling the weight *still*. Barbara LEX AND CHOLESTEROL LEVELS..... Hi Eveyone: I have been on Lexapro for 5 months now....Because I am hypersensiive to ALL drugs, we have taken increased dosages verrry slowly... I increased my dosage again two months ago.......Had labs for an already high cholesterol level and now found it has increased 50 points in a few months...Yes, I have gained about 8 plus lbs since on Lex also... Has anyone else experienced a dramatic increase in their cholesterol level since taking Lex???? My doc says the Lex doesn't increase the cholesterol.....probably the fact that my appetite is better........I do watch what I eat, so wondering?? Thanks for your response......God Bless you all......joann-marie ------------------------------------

Total cholesterol dropped from 5.0 mmol/l to 3.4 mmol/l, that is 32 % lower now. LDL 1.2 mmol/l HDL 1.56 mmol/l Triglyserides 1.3 mmol/l Doctor was very satisfied ... . As I said in my introduction message, Lexapro did wonders to me. I think that my cholesterol levels dropped because of increased exercise and Lexapro enabled me exerise more (now 63 km of rowing per week). Guest guest
Even through weight gain, my bad and good cholesterol numbers are supposedly fine.
