I have been taking 20mg of lex for a month after

taking it for 2 months at 10mg. I had an abcessed

tooth but didn't know and had a headache for 2 weeks

and took up to 1600mg of ibuprofen a day with no

bleeding. after the removal of the tooth they gave me

a bunch of lortab and it helped with the headache but

with the lexapro it effected me unlike ever before.

Narcotics always effected me like strong speed but

with the lex it makes me feel different.

I'm not sure what lortab is. My painkiller of choice is Bayer aspirin. With a

headache or backache, I usually take two extra strength caplets. I'm bummed that

I'm not allowed to do that with Lexapro. I'll ask my doctor on Wednesday when I

go in to see her.

Well, I think ibuprofen is also an NSAID. I know if you're going to have surgery

you can't have aspirin or ibuprofen for about 10 days before the surgery.

I could take Tylenol, except it doesn't work very well at all for me. It does

basically nothing for a headache, and it's not an antiinflammatory, either, so

it doesn't help join pain.

I take an aspirin every day for aspirin therapy and

Tylenol 3 W/ Codien for other pain. Sometimes just

So I guess you haven't had any bleeding problems from it, right? Maybe it's just

one of those warnings that the drug companies have to give because a few people

had problems.

I know that taking Ibuprofen with Effexor can cause and/or worsen bleeding. I

have a real problem with my periods because of that. I have to avoid using

Ibuprofen. I can take tylenol and some Aleve every now and again. So it has to

be a significant problem if there's a warning about it. It may not happen for

certain people but if you bruise easily after taking the drug or notice that

things are bleeding heavier or longer than normal then you have a problem.

I hope this makes sense....I should be in bed. :-/

Nothing happened when I took the Lex with the Advil. But I read that the

combination of the 2 can cause thinning of the blood and gastrointestinal

bleeding. So, I just stopped taking the combination to avoid any potential

problems. It's too bad because I live with chronic pain and am allergic to a

lot of pain medications. The Advil seemed to be the thing that helped me the

most. But I didn't dare take it any more. I have reflux esophagitis and take

Nexium for that. I was afraid that it could start to bleed out. Sue C--- On

I asked my doctor about it on Wednesday and she said it was ok to take it once

in awhile, just don't take it every day. So I'm going to take it if I get a
