Been taking 10mg for two months and haven't noticed any effects at all, positive or negative. Today my DR put me on Effexor and I took my last Lexapro? He said I didn't have to slowly go off Lexapro and that tomorrow I could take 37mg of Effexor (which will eventually turn into 75mg after a few days). This really doesn't sound right to me. I think I'm going to take at least one more day of Lexapro while I read up. Has anyone just immediately switched like this before? Or has anyone just cold turkey stopped taking Lexapro and been fine? I suggest you call your Pdoc and tell him/her of your concerns both in switching CT and then about the Effexor. I switched the other way a bit less then a year ago and personally had an awful time getting off the Effexor even though I tapered the Effexor while slowly starting the Lexapro. I will say the the Effexor did give me the best relief of all the AD's...much better then the Lexapro. I would never do Effexor again......the withdrawals just were not worth it for me.
