Hey ,

I have a question if you don't mind....what kind of chest pains did you

have? I started on Lexapro and was on it for a month but my anxitety and

depression increased so I just weaned off. Last night I had pain and

pressure which seemed to be in my heart and I was terrified and didn't sleep

most of the night. When I did fall asleep I dreamed I was having a heart

attack or had very strange dreams. I sooooo don't want to tell my doctor

this! I already think he thinks I'm crazy. LOL

My husband thinks it's just the Lexapro and weaning off etc. I'm lost.

Thanks for any advice!

I am glad your quality of life has increased on the Lexapro....it's also

worked wonders for my Dad and two brothers. :o)

The chest pains were hitting me atleast every week or

two. I went to my family doctor and he said my

bloodpressure was high. He went on to accuse me of

being on cocaine or meth. I then went to the hospital

and my blood pressure was 220/174. They gave me blood

pressure meds and lipotor. I tried them both but

disliked them and flooshed them down the toilet. I

made up my mind that I would search for another doctor

since mine acted unaproppiately towards me. In

semptember I met with a new doctor and I mentioned

lexapro to her and she wrote me a script.

Some people feel no effects from lexapro and some have

adverse effects from it. It isn't for everyone.

I will probably never have a steady girlfriend because

my illness but I am sure I will meet someone crazily

compatible with me. Ok, went a little off

topic..............Thanks y'all

Thanks for sharing , I really appreciate it. I'm still terrified that

I'm going to have a heart attack and I live way out in BFE so could I be

saved..... :o( I don't want to die, I have a little toddler that needs

me.

I really think I should have gone to the doctor today now as the pain and

pressure is coming back even though I picked up my script for Ativan and

took one happily. Someone else told me it's probably just a panic attack

and it very well may be but I've never had them THIS badly before.

Well, thanks for you post and chin up! I'm sure you will find someone who is

compatible with you someday. There is someone out there for all of us

crazies. LOL I'm kidding!

Take care,

Cyndi

Hey Cyndi, I am no pharmicist but maybe if you have

been taking Ativan for awhile you may have been

experiencing withdrawl sypmtoms from not having it?

When I took Zoloft in high school I didn't like it.

It made me sleepy. I was reading up on Trazadone

(deseryl) and it is a bit older but it is an SRI and a

5HT-1 antagonist which it does exactly like it sounds.

Like teasing a leashed dog. It antagonizes the

5-hydroxytryptophans. I haven't tried it

myself..........As far as finding a companion, I am

confident I will find someone. I have gotten a phone

number every weekend the last four weeks counting

tonight. Two of which when I called they acted weird

so I never called back. One talked to me for a couple

days then all of the sudden just got voicemail so I

quit calling. The one tonight, Haven't called her yet

of course, but she gets disability too but for her

back. That might be common ground. I told her that I

get it for anxiety. I am always upfront. I never try

to be somebody else. I will call her in a few days.

I don't get heartbroken when I fall, I just get back

on the horse sort of speak.

Thanks . I haven't taken Ativan regularly but since weaning off the Lex

was taking one 0.5 before bed just to sleep. Either that or I have to take

tons of benadryl. :o( I guess it's possible though I really needed that

Ativan because last night I was calm, cool and collected and even almost

fell asleep on the couch. :o) I REALLY want to get Wellbutrin but found

out there are others that Walmart and Giant Eagle pharmacy offer for $4.

(the generics) and wouldn't that be great. Cost may have to play a factor

in which one I choose because if I pick a $4. one I can start it tomorrow

and be on the road to recovery. :o)

Keep up the good work on finding someone good for you. My husband puts up

with my craziness even though he doesn't understand it (he's a nutcase as

well in his own ways) so I am lucky. He almost took me to the ER with my

chest pains last night but we simply decided I am too young to be having a

heart attack even if I do have all the symptoms.

Stay on your horse and take care of yourself!

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to chime in and say that years ago I took Trazodone (Deseryl) for

sleep and I always woke up groggy.

Hi ,

I went from Lexapro to Celexa due to financial reasons. Celexa is a

lot cheaper! But Lexapro and Celexa have the same active molecule...

I really don't know if it would affect your sleepiness. For me, I

ended up taking both Wellbutrin and Celexa. The Wellbutrin has worked

wonders for my energy level, but switching from Lexapro to Celexa had

absolutely no change on me other than a mild transition period where I

had heightened anxiety for a few days.

I don't remember if you've posted before about other meds you've

tried? Maybe there is another antidepressant that your doctor could

tell you about that has less of a reputation for making people sleepy.

Hope this helps some,

Jen :)
