Guest guest
I've noticed that my RLS is getting worse, but I went from one pill to half a tablet, because the dizzyness was becoming a tremendous problem for me. Now I take half a tablet every other night at bedtime. Guest guest
I had RLS from Celexa. It was very bad. And when I began weaning off of the Celexa I noticed that for a bit it got worse. Eventually it did go away. As Lex and Celexa are basically the same drug I would think the RLS should eventually clear up. If not then it's time to see your doctor. I'm sorry you have this as I know how terrible it feels. :-( Barbara > > I recently stopped taking Lexapro and have been experiencing severe > restless leg syndrome every night as one of the withdrawal effects. > Has anyone else experienced this or any type of restlessness after > being weened off of Lexapro and going through withdrawal side effects? >
Guest guest
Hello, I've been lurking about and reading the comments here for awhile. I had RLS before starting the lexapro and have definitely noticed worsening. I'm beginning week 5 of the lex and am really hoping that this unpleasantness abates. Has anyone had the RLS lessening with time while still on one of the med? Thanks for any replies, I went my whole life taking no meds and now find myself on requip, lexapro and ambien cr. Peace, Amy > > I had RLS from Celexa. It was very bad. And when I began weaning off > of the Celexa I noticed that for a bit it got worse. Eventually it did > go away. Guest guest
Amy, Does Requip really work for restless leg syndrome? I am thinking of begging my doctor to prescribe it for me. Actually my doctor told me that the restless leg syndrome started because I started taking Zoloft after I was weaned off of Lexapro. He said that RLS is from the Zoloft so he told me to stop taking Zoloft and take Lexapro instead. This was yesterday and so far there is no change in the RLS. The RLS is horrible, I went to a movie today and couldn't sit still through the movie, I had to get up and leave the theatre twice! I hate living like this. While I was on Lexapro and before Zoloft I didn't have this. So I hope my doctor is right. > > > > I had RLS from Celexa. It was very bad. Guest guest
I had RLS on Celexa, but usually only if I laid in bed reading before I went to bed. My grandma would always tell me to get up and sweep the floor or something! I didn't ever try that. I had my husband rub my legs once, and it seemed to help. I've also found that if I take a sleep aid, (I used to take one benadryl a night, now i'm on Trazodone, 25 mg, love it!) I wouldn't have RLS. Since I've been on Lexapro, I haven't had any problems. I'm obviously thrilled. Hope this might help someone. sfkhan924 <sfsyed@...> wrote: Amy, Does Requip really work for restless leg syndrome? I am thinking of begging my doctor to prescribe it for me. Guest guest
You'll probably still have the RLS until the Zoloft is out of your system. Guest guest
I took Trazadone and IT caused awful RLS so I stopped it. Guest guest
sfkhan, I had RLS for many years that progressed to " severe " over the past couple of years. I started taking requip last fall and have had good results. For some people (me included) it has a bit of a rebound effect so the RLS occurs during the day but it is so much easier to " walk it off " during the day. I get relief about an hour after taking a dose. If I want to sit through a play or movie I take a half dose. The Lex seemed to make it worse but that has abated over the past couple of days. I'll take a wait and see approach. DO ask your doc about requip. Many doctors are not very knowledgeable about it because people with RLS have difficulty describing their symptoms. You begin with a dose pack that starts with a very small dose and builds up to a 1 mg. therapeutic dose. The maximum dose is, I think, 6 mg. I agree that you should wait to see how you do after being off zoloft for awhile. Meanwhile, try giving up ALL caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Some sinus meds will aggravate it, I'm told. Good luck. I apologize for the length of this post. > > > > > > I had RLS from Celexa. It was very bad. And when I began weaning > off > > > of the Celexa I noticed that for a bit it got worse.
