My siamese, he was 6 mos. old. I was devastated, cried for 3 mos. All I can tell you is give him/her plenty of love, more than you ever did. Im afraid his death is inevitable, I know the above person was blunt in telling you this, and I'm sorry. I will tell you tho that if the time comes and you need to have him put down, PLEASE stay with him. I made the mistake of just leaving Simon at the vets, I was so upset I couldn't stay there, I now kick myself in the ass for not being with him to the end, I know its hard, but please try to do this. Also, save his ashes, I wasn't going to do this until I found out they were going to put him in a mass grave. Screw that!!! He is home here with me in a mahogany box with a brass name plate with his name on it. Did you keep up with his shots and stuff for FIP? I didn't even know this disease existed until my cat got it. Guest guest
Terry, NO, NO, NO! I wasn't blunt in telling him anything! I was only expressing sympathy. I also have had pets that I loved get sick and there was nothing I could do about it and know how painful it is. I had a german shepard who had epilepsy and had siezures to the point that when he wasn't having a siezure he would turn on my other animals and attack them. It killed me to have to put him down. And Rexxie was my baby before I had my children. He was 10 years old before my first child was born. He had cushings disease and I paid $200.00 a month just for his medications, and that doesn't count him having to constantly go to the vets office. When the end finally came the vets preformed CPR on him and gave him adrinaline shots until neither of us could take it anymore. They got his heart going again but he never regained conscienceness I stayed with him til his heart quit beating again and let him go. He was my faithful companion for 12 years. I wasn't being flip or being unkind. Tony, again I am sorry about your cat, in my original message I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and give you my sympathies. Guest guest
Tony, I am very sorry to hear about your cat. I had to put my lab, Jessie, down after having her for not quite15 years. Not the first animal I have had to make that decision on, but it never ever gets any easier. You and your kitty will be in my thoughts. julie Kansas http://360./minniedamoocher http://community.webshots.com/user/N8iveio1
Guest guest
If we measure lives not in time but in grace, in the joy with which they are lived, and in the love they leave behind, then we have much to learn from our cats. > > Apology accepted. Guest guest
, I know a bit on how you feel about putting down a loved pet. Shortly after I got married my siamese of 13yrs had to be put down as she was convulsing a lot, going blind and couldn't jump into bed anymore. My husband and cried for days, esp. when we would see a toy of hers lying around. We later got 2 cats that I had to give up after he died because I couldn't keep them and I cried for them too. Pets can give comfort and peace that Lex. or any other AD can't. ak --- leslie turner <clrjgoodrich@...> wrote: > Terry, > NO, NO, NO! I wasn't blunt in telling him > anything!
