I'm taking both because I'm newly on Lexapro and weaning off effexor.

The pharmacist did say that they shouldn't be taken together long term,

so you might want to double check on that. Good luck.

Definitely check that out it could be dangerous long term

Hi Patty,

I find no adverse effects of Lexapro. It has taken away the anxiety and

heart racing, along with other semi compulsive behavior. You have nothing to

worry about.

Hi Carolyn..I am also in the process of weaning off of Effexor and

starting Lexapro. I was on the Effexor for about 3 years. It has

stopped working as far as my severe anxiety and secondary depression

are concerned.My pdoc started me on 10 mg. Lexapro and I also take

Xanax as needed. Why have you stopped the Effexor? Sure hope this

new med helps us. Don't know about how you are feeling but may

anxiety is sooo very uncomfortable I really need some relief. It

would be great to here some positives on Lexapro from anyone in the

group. I am really scared....Patty

I seem to be doing pretty well with just the Lex. I'm

just on 10mg for dep./anx.

Hi there! I am thinking of going from Lexapro to Effexor? It is much

cheaper....but what do you know about side effects? Right now I just started

taking a lexapro every other night to see how I do. I am so tired of yawning

and being tired and having no energy.............any thoughts? Thanks,
