Dana ,

I never mind answering anything at all.. I have nothing to hide

especially if it may help me or someone else.

Nothing over the counter... only borth control pills and occassional

advil ( since the lex)

no vitamins

chamomile tea is the only herb oh and mint.

before the lex I havd been on many many meds because I had been sick

with the IBS. I cannot even name them all. All had one bad effect after

another. I was on some vicodin for a little while ( I wonder if that has

to do with it..that was for my stomach) Also right around when i started

gettign the panic... I got a sinus infection that lasted 4 months. I was

on antibiotics the whole time. At least i avoided surgery.

coffee early in the morning only. I have been waking up 4 AM ( and I am

not a morning person) A cup or 2 then and that is it. no chocolate really

....rare

having trouble eating IBS and the anxiety and now the lex ( oh my stomach

and colon hurt) I cannot eat much - 20 years vegetarian.. eat eggs milk

and cheese ( but eggs make me sick lately) 1 meal a day ..maybe 2 if

lucky.

water I am not doing well on and I will be the 1st to admit it. I am

getting better about that cause the meds make me so thirsty I have to

drink something,.

not on anything for IBs ...I gave up on all those... I take an

occassional antacid and otherwise just suffer..but I can tell I have

colon trouble and acid reflux. misserable.

on now... nothing for sleep ( thwey tried giving me trazadone. 50 mg did

nothing. 100 mg. put me out but I was up 4 hours later.... so I am not

taking it. I uppped my lex dose from 1/8 a pill to 1/4 a pill this week (

note when the stomach trouble began ..but also the disability trouble

began) I have ativan ( temporarily) I am allowed 2 1 mg pills per day

wich dose not seem enough. I need more like 3 ... but the dr says only 2.

DAna thanks for being around you really are being a life saver. I

wouldn't know what to do without your support right now. You are helping

me more than you can know. sincere thanks alison

hi

need B control due to super SEVERE cramping or I would be at the ER ever

month. BUT I will talk to my dr ..do you think I could bring it up with

my shrink? I have no BF so ...I would just not take anything for now if

it weren't for severe cramping.

ok on herbs but the chamomile seems to help me. the mint I can see

potential trouble for stomach

as far as stopping the drugs ..antibiotics and also the vicodin...maybe 3

months before the lex. I have also lost 25 lbs in the last year. I am

not a skinny sort of girl ..was always chubby but the IBS got to me. can

you explain more about the fat cell storage of meds? like is that good or

not good in the case of the lex?

caffiene... not willing to give up totally. I am actually being really

good here. and I seem to be ok in the mornign time anyway. I wake up

with anxiety...but then I seem to be ok until the sun comes up. I do not

think it is the coffeee. psychological would be my guess

as far as the diet and IBS ...well I am not seeing any dr but the shrink

I cannot afford it. No I do not think I was really tested for food

allergy . I guess I could do my own experiments. Fat seems bad ..but

cheese not so bad. I used to eat a lot of soy and beans and eggs all of

which seem to cause me great distress these days

thanks for the food tip on feeling over medicated. actually I am more of

a nibbler than a have 3 big meals person. In the last year I am having

many food issues and stomach problems probably stress related ..or maybe

not ... but it is like a deterant I eat I am sick within minutes.

as far as the meds..it is complicated cause it is county..took me 3

months to get the ativan at all . they do not like to give it out

...scared people are drug seekers or will sell it on the street . i

already asked if I could take 3 sometimes..they said no and they keep

strict count. well you know wha there are days I have taken 3 ... the

other thing is they say they are only giving me that tuntil stable on the

meds and then no more. I am a bit concerned about that . As for

klonopin..I have tried it ( ok from a friend) and it does work. It works

probably a lot better than ativan. It is bad cause it is a situation

where I am actually afraid to ask for anything... it is free service...

not liek I am paying and they do have their rules. ativan justification

is that is addictive. I only 1/2 believe that . it hardly dose anything

...it is not like I am havign wild ativan parties over here or something

..sheesh.

Hi Alison ~ ~

Have you ever been checked for endometrosis??? Also, there are other

birth control drugs out there that may not exasabate your symptoms of

depression and anxiety. I know for me, I just couldn't take them as

I became more depressed and anxious while on them. My body tension

went through the roof.

Keep all these things in mind because if eliminating and getting help

on some of these might reduce your intrusive symptoms it might be

worth checking into :) Take one step at a time or do one thing a day

and see.......

Also, I utilize a 24/7 crisis hotline alot. In fact I have been

using the same hotline since 1987........... some days I spend alot

of time talking on them and then I may go for a month or two without

calling them. They have alot of resources at their fingertips.

Remember, the more people you talk to about your situation, the more

information you will get back that will empower you and that is key.

So, keep on asking and talking Alison (((hugs)))

hi dana,

no check for endometriosis... not yet. I cannot afford any doctor visits

at this time so... All I know is that I get debilitating cramps on my

period and that the pill helps ( but not as much as it did about a year

ago) . Maybe I should stop takign them I would rather but I am afraid of

the pain and agony.

what kind of crisis hotline? Maybe I need something like that .

Sometimes I just need to cry, vent ,talk, etc. Arer there crisis lines

that are not S. hot lines? alison
